The RGM-86R “GM III” is a mecha from Mobile Suit Gundam It was developed from the prototype Gundam Mk. II for the Earth Federation Space Forces. One of its main goals was anti-ship warfare. As such, the GM III was armed with modular anti-ship missile launchers. The GM III was a huge success when it was first introduced in U C 0088 It remained the mainstay general-purpose mecha for Federation Forces well into the U C 0090s
This simple mecha from Gundam is a favorite of mine First of all, I like the use of green and red combined with white. The blue visor also helps diversify the colour palette. I also like the head design: the visor shape, antenna, and silhouette. The cameras peppered around the design make the design more lively and less monotonous The many thrusters on the mecha reinforce the feeling of swiftness and power that the design emulates The extruded knee components effectively imply the weight of the mecha, adding to its “realism” and cool factor. The backpack has a distinct design, especially with the protruding fins that house the mecha’s beam sabers (basically a lightsaber). Overall, I really like the design for the GM III: it irradiates heaviness and power while also being simple and mass-produced.
