Tacoma Country & Golf Club is proud of our past and excited about our future. Dating back to 1894, Tacoma Country & Golf Club has been occupying this beautiful property on the shores of American Lake.

A membership at Tacoma Country & Golf Club is more than just a place to golf, it is a place to relax, escape, and create memories. Featuring an 18-hole championship golf course that stretches beyond 6,900 yards, accomplished players will love the test and players of all skill levels will find an enjoyable round each visit. In addition to the golf course, our members enjoy access to one of the finest practice facilities in the region. With a full driving range, chipping green with sand trap, and oversized putting green all members will have ample space to continue improving their game.

In addition to wonderful golf, members will enjoy an exclusive dining room and lounge featuring sweeping views of American Lake, along with a competition size swimming pool, a boat dock for full access to the lake, tennis courts, and more.

GOLF MEMBERSHIP

Resident

Equity membership with all privileges including golf, voting and right to own property adjoining Club grounds. Provides Clubhouse privileges for spouse and dependent children. See family classification for more information on family golf privileges. Range fee additional mandatory charge per month and golf tax.

Intermediate

Golf and Clubhouse access and privileges. No equity and no voting privileges until invited to Resident membership. Individuals must be at least 21 years old and no older than 40. No equity until Resident membership status has been granted. Range fee additional mandatory charge per month and golf tax.

Military

Full golf and social privileges extended to military on active duty with the option to temporarily suspend payment of fees during deployment. Callable in three years. Range fee additional mandatory charge per month and golf tax.

Out-of-State

Must show residency outside the state of Washington and be a member in good standing at a private club in another state. Limited to 12 rounds of golf per year, then pay regular green fees. No equity or voting. Range fee additional mandatory charge per month and golf tax.

Full social and Clubhouse privileges without golf, voting, or equity rights. Each membership is entitled to two complimentary rounds of golf each year. Country Club

Full social and Clubhouse privileges without golf, voting, or equity rights. Each Country Club membership is entitled to two complimentary rounds of golf each year with the opportunity to sign-up for the range program. Use of the fitness center, swimming pool, tennis courts, and summer programs for children and grandchildren are included.

Junior

Golfing membership for approved applicants between the ages of 13 and 20 years old. Applicants must be sponsored by two Resident members. Charging privileges are not allowed. Parents of Junior members are not allowed on the course or practice facilities.

Legacy

Men's Fund

The purpose of the Men’s Fund is to promote friendship and to provide for regularly scheduled men’s golf events throughout the year. The Men’s Fund provides set-up and prizes for weekly competitions and special events. Events include six Field Days per year, participation in the Club Championship, and the annual Pro Member Horse Race.

Billed Annually (February) $220

Hole-In-One Fund

Once a month, the Men’s Club schedules a Hole-in-One dinner to honor any member who has made a hole-in-one or eagle within the previous month. Acknowledged members will be presented with a trophy. The monthly fee provides for the dinner and two drinks. The fee is automatically billed and is charged regardless of attendance.

Women's 18-Hole Golf Division

The Women’s 18-Hole Division plays on Tuesday mornings throughout the golf season. The required fee covers group events and includes tournament fees for competition. The 18-Hole program includes several enjoyable Club tournaments scheduled throughout the year for all levels of ability including Seniors, Field Days, Best Ball, MemberMember, Guest Day, and Championship. In addition, qualifying members may participate in outside competitions of the Puget Sound Women’s Golf Association, Greater Tacoma Team, and Home & Home exchanges with Seattle and Broadmoor. Players of all handicap levels are welcome and encouraged to play in the 18-Hole Division. Billed Annually (January) $90.00

Women's 9-Hole Golf Division

Membership in the Women’s Nine Hole Division entitles a woman to play and compete on Thursday mornings during the golf season (March October). Special days of play include Field Days, Best Ball and Summer Handicap tournaments, a Guest Day, an Exchange with Canterwoood and Fircrest golfers. Nine hole golfers enjoy the fellowship of playing, eating, and visiting together regularly. The annual membership fee funds the prizes throughout the season, supports the social events, and provides operating funds for the Woman’s Nine Hole Division Board. Golfers of all abilities welcome. Billed Annually (January) $85.00

GENERAL POLICIES

Guest Policy

1. A reasonable number of guests will be allowed for golfing purposes provided that the same guest is not introduced by one or more members more than two times per month from November to February and only one time per month from March to October.

2. For purposes other than golf, members may not invite guests more than a total of 24 times in any calendar year. The same guest may not be introduced by one or more mebers more than 12 times in any one calendar year.

3. All guests must be accompanied by a member at all times.

Dress Code

When utilizing the Club facilities, appropriate attire is required at all times for members and their guests. Attire should always be in conformance with what is normally expected at a private country club. Exceptions to these rules will apply only for special functions when advertised as such. It is the member’s responsibility to inform and enforce his or her guests of the dress code requirements. The Clubhouse staff has been directed to inform any member or guest when their attire is not appropriate. Clubhouse privileges may be denied to any member or guest not in compliance with the dress code.

The following attire is not acceptable for anyone at any time.

Tank-tops, halter-tops, cut-off pants, t-shirts, tennis shorts, bathing suits, bare midriffs, sweat suits (sweatshirts/sweatpants) or gymnasium attire (yoga pants).

Clubhouse Dress Code:

- Non-distressed denim is acceptable in all areas of the Clubhouse.

- Men are not to wear golf hats and visors anywhere in the Clubhouse.

- Collared shirts are required for men

Dress Code

While on the golf course, practice areas or in the Pro Shop:

Men

- Shirts with a collar. Shirts must always be tucked in.

- Sweaters, mock-neck, turtlenecks, half-zip, and crew-style pullovers.

- Collarless sweaters or pullovers must have a collared shirt worn underneath.

- Slacks, pants, corduroys, Bermuda length shorts, and rain pants are acceptable.

- Shorts must extend beyond the fingertips. Western-style 5 pocket pants are permissible, provided they are not blue jeans, denim or fabric that is faded or distressed.

- Hats, visors and caps, worn brim forward.

- Golf appropriate footwear with soft spikes or athletic sole suitable for golf.

Women

- The intent for all women’s golf attire is for it to be conservative in nature. Specifically, for women’s shorts, skorts and skirts, the length must extend beyond the fingertips.

- Shirts or tops with a collar, crew neck, turtleneck, mock-neck, or high v-neck.

- Sleeveless shirts permissible with a collar.

- Bermuda length shorts, pants, corduroys, skirts, skorts, capris or rain pants.

- Skorts, shorts and skirts must extend beyond the fingertips.

- Solid, dark colored leggings for weather-warmth may be worn provided they include the conforming length short, skirt or skort.

- Hats, visors, and caps, worn brim forward, acceptable indoors.

- Golf appropriate footwear with soft spikes or athletic sole suitable for golf.

Men’s fund members use the course from 7:30am to 10:30am (7:00am to 10:30am in the months of June, July and August). No guests before 9:00am. One guest per member between 9:00am and 11:00am. Juniors with a handicap of 18 or lower may start play after 12:00pm when accompanying an adult member.

SUNDAY & HOLIDAYS

Men’s fund members use the golf course from 7:30am to 10:00am. The course uses tee times from 10:00am to 2:00pm, with tee times available to be booked at 8:00am the Friday prior. After 2:00pm, open play. Juniors with a handicap of 18 or lower may play with a men’s fund member before 10:00am.

MEMBERSHIP PROCEDURE

Proposals for membership may be submitted by members enjoying any classification. Each proposal must be accompanied by sponsorship forms from two (2) members. In the case of golfing memberships, the two (2) sponsorship forms must be from Resident members. The forms will be assistance to the Membership Committee in evaluating the proposal.

Membership Procedure

1.Upon receipt of the proposal, two (2) sponsorship forms, initiation fee and attending the Meet & Greet with the Membership Committee, we are happy to issue guest privileges for you to experience club amenities during the interim processing period. The Membership Committee will consider the proposal as soon as possible and, if satisfied, will submit it to the Board of Directors with a recommendation for approval.

2.If the Board of Directors agrees in this recommendation the candidate will be extended courtesy privileges.

3.If no written objections are received during the posting period, the candidate is deemed duly elected and is notified accordingly. In the event one or more written objections are received the proposal will be reviewed at the next meeting of the Board of Directors who will, at the time, consider the nature of the objections and act to sustain or deny them.
