Trinity Development & Alumni (TDA) is the primary fundraising agency for The University of Dublin, Trinity College Dublin. It is charged with responsibility for, and exists solely to support, the fundraising (development) and alumni engagement activities of the University. www.tcd.ie/development, www.tcd.ie/alumni. This post is tenable immediately or as soon as possible thereafter. Role & Purpose To support fundraisers in securing significant funding for the College’s priorities. (While fundraisers are responsible for the fundraising targets - individually and collectively - Development Officers are expected to be proactive in every way in helping achieve them.) Key Responsibilities 1. Work with the fundraising team in the delivery of collective and individual targets. 2. Work closely with individual fundraisers to ensure all aspects of the fundraising process are effective including: identification and research of potential donors; crafting engagement and cultivation plans; and effective stewardship. 3. Support fundraisers in managing their prospect portfolio through the development cycle and recording this. 4. Deliver a suite of activities in support of the fundraising strategy including events, publications, research briefs and proposals, and administrative tasks. 5. Work with the TDA teams in delivering the respective goals of the College. 6. Plan, record, measure and report on activity (bi-annually and annually). 7. Undertake other duties as may be assigned from time to time by line manager.
Required Experience & Skills Qualifications - Third-level qualification or professionally trained with appropriate qualifications. - Candidates should have a minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role. Experience and Knowledge (Essential) - Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster good working relationships. - Motivated, flexible and able to use own initiative in a busy working environment. - Diligent and highly organised with close attention to detail. - Experience of structuring and prioritising workload and meeting deadlines. - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Demonstrated experience in providing service to internal stakeholders. - Knowledge of the principles and processes relevant to major gift fundraising is beneficial. - Understanding of, and passion for, the role and value of a university in society.
