JVM is the part of JRE and it is responsible to load and run the java class file.
Why call virtual? It isn't a physical device. Like a virtual OS, virtual machine is a machine inside your main machine. Your actual machine more or less also does the same thing as JVM-executes codes, but with different scopes.
