BUILDING COMMUNITIES.

CHANGING

LIVES.

For over 30 years, TCA has had a passion for mixed-use, multifamily housing. We believe that everyone deserves the quality of life that starts with a good home; and we share in the responsibility of delivering safe, affordable and supportive housing for all walks of life. We believe in inclusive, engaging communities, where people work together to bring those on the fringes back into the mainstream of the community.

Not only does 6th Street Place provide much needed housing for the homeless, but also fosters a strong sense of community through art and architecture. Built in a factory and assembled on site, modular design is environmentally friendly by reducing construction waste and impacts to the community. The front-facing wall will feature a projected scroll showing artworks created by residents to be enjoyed every evening. The project achieved LEED Gold certification.

WE CRAFT VIBRANT COMMUNITIES.

Our design approach is thorough, creative, and technically sound. It is informed by our many years of experience in the development and construction industry. We are a firm believer of affordable housing and adaptive reuse, and we engage the broader community in our design process. We believe a well-designed space can have positive impact on the residents’ well-being and we are eager to see the positive impact the additional housing will have on the community.

LA PLACITA CINCO

CLIENT: COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS

The goal of the new community was to renovate an aging strip center and add much needed affordable housing to revitalize a neighborhood. The new residential building features 51 family-friendly units with groundfloor community-served amenity spaces. On the upper level, the units are arranged around a central courtyard creating a safe, inviting environment for families to enjoy.

SANTA ANA,

EVERMONT

Currently under construction, Evermont is a transit-oriented, mixed-use development, with 118 family affordable units, and 62 homeless supportive senior units, above 50,000 SF of ground retail. The project is located near transit for ease of commute, and in a neighborhood with a strong need for housing. The multigeneration living, along with community serving retail and restaurants, help to create a vibrant and safe community within the neighborhood. Evermont’s façade is planar with strategic ‘carve-outs’, inspired by a geode, to allow light into interior courtyards. The project is designed for LEED Gold certification.

The project is designed in Craftsman style using simple expressive forms and articulated massing to create an environment that is both comfortable and familiar. The project achieved LEED Gold certification.

TCA is proud to be a part of Hawaii’s local community. We have been helping our Hawaii clients create their visions since 2009 and our downtown office and local team has been in service since 2021. We are excited to be helping to contribute much-needed affordable housing to Hawaii and are proud to be leading the design for the first five-story type III wrap housing project in Hawaii.

Oriented along a community paseo, Kapolei reaches out and opens towards the paseo, creating an active pedestrian community. The project exhibits a clean, contemporary version of traditional Hawaiian architecture. The design will acknowledge, balance, and celebrate traditional Hawaiian vernacular as well as modern construction techniques.

400 KEAWE

CLIENT: KAMEHAMEHA SCHOOLS

400 Keawe uses an innovative parking solution to provide density for the entire block. The horizontal mixed-use project for an infill site contributes housing to the fast growing Kaka’ako neighborhood. The program includes a pad retail neighborhood grocery and on grade plaza, a hybrid parking structure that provides parking for the adjacent mixed-use podium building, and housing above the parking structure. The on grade parking solution was determined because ancient burial grounds prohibited sub-T parking conditions. TCA served as the Design Architect for this project.

SANTA BARBARA

CLIENT: LEWIS GROUP

The vision for the project was to bring the essence and character of the hamlet of Santa Barbara to Rancho Cucamonga. A pedestrian friendly “State Street” anchored on one end by a park, and community gardens at the other, ties together the various residential courtyard buildings. Each courtyard is an intimate grouping of front entries with a unique landscape design palette for the residents to discover.

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA

VOX at Cumulus is a comprehensive residential and commercial mixed-use project that embodies all the defining characteristics of a TOD. The site plan and architecture respond directly to the urban scale, fabric, and culture of its surroundings. The design is inspired by the notions of progress, change, and motion. The site design is guided by the principles of connectivity and placemaking. More than 1,700 solar panels helped VOX achieve Green Point Rated Platinum status. The surrounding neighborhood strongly desired a Whole Foods which occupies 50k SF of the ground floor.
