to the Spring 2021 edition of the Collection

Supply and demand. Surplus or shortage. Like all markets, commodity value in the property market depends on these factors. It was enough that the market stabilised upon the decisive election of December 2019, this alone saw a revived market where the supply of available homes began to ebb. The Chancellor’s decision to boost that process with a Stamp Duty Incentive led to an enourmous surge in transactions, inflated further by sellers coming to the market earlier than planned to enjoy the benefit of the fuelled demand. As a result, by the end of Q1 2021, the market was starved of properties coming to the market and then came 'Stamp Duty Incentive - the sequel'. Once again demand was turbo-charged. Certainly, until a year ago market values in higher price ranges have been under downward pressure for several years and so a correction was due. This factor alone may just sustain improved sale values when the Stamp Duty Incentive comes to an end. The lettings market too has seen a surge in demand, as more landlords exit the market due to greater regulation and taxation, the tenant-demand is heightened by sellers 'moving out of the way' of buyers seeking to save Stamp Duty. There's an urgent demand for all property-types. You will find a selection of beautiful homes in these pages, many of which will be already spoken for but several more are now available on a 'low-key' basis.
