CommunityFund

Many thanks for your interest in the Tayside Contracts Community Fund (TCCF).

If you have an inspiring idea for how we can support a local project, please read this document and the associated process map carefully before applying to the fund. Who can apply?

Tayside Contracts is proud to support its local communities to shape their future by providing goods and services to transform and improve lives for people.

Applications can be submitted by constituted groups across Tayside such as registered charities and community groups.

The fund will also support financially independent and locally managed branches of national charities as well as small, grassroots charities and community organisations.

We give preference to new applications over applicants that make repeated submissions.

It is essential that activities supported by the Tayside Contracts Community Fund are aligned to the Community Plan priorities of the Council area they are based in. The applicant must therefore demonstrate they are meeting the criteria for that Council.

So, what’s the difference between the Tayside Contracts Community Fund and other funding that’s available?

Well, we don’t provide monetary funding.

We provide our goods and services up to agreed values. As an organisation delivering a diverse range of frontline services, Tayside Contracts can support local communities in various ways by providing goods or services, for example, civil engineering, roads maintenance, vehicle maintenance, various signage (through our specialist sign shop), facilities management, catering and cleaning. A more detailed list of our goods and services are available on the next page.

What value of support can be requested?

There are two application processes for support, depending on the estimated cost provided to you:

1. Fast Track Values up to £500 Decision - within three weeks of applying

2. Full Application Values from £501 to £3,000 Decision - one month after the closing date

It should be noted that approval is contingent on the funding and resources available at the time. If your total project costs exceed the maximum value, we can still provide the goods/services and invoice you for the outstanding balance.

In advance of your application, email us at communityfund@tayside-contracts.co.uk to confirm that we can deliver the goods/services you require, and provide you with a quote. ⚠ You can’t submit an application without this quote.

When is the Community Fund open for applications?

Application Outcome by *30 June *30 November

*for Full applications

How will I be informed about the outcome of my application?

Once the assessment process is complete, the named applicant will be contacted, and any additional information will be provided or requested at that time.

How often can I apply if I have something else that could be provided via the fund?

Only one application per organisation per calendar year can be submitted.

When we quote works we will also have to quote VAT @ 20% .

With charities, the situation is unfortunately more complicated and depends on the nature of work being requested. The following government website may help give a bit more detail on what qualifies for VAT relief.

If you are able to provide the written declaration that you are eligible for VAT relief then the costs of the works would be the value quoted to you excluding VAT, unfortunately otherwise we have to include VAT in the costing.

What we don’t support?

The Tayside Contracts Community Fund cannot support:activities that promote religious or political views purely commercial ventures (for profit) spending that has already taken place (i.e. retrospective funding) redistribution of funding to individuals or other organisations activities that exclude individuals on the basis of protected characteristics

Applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Applicants are advised to demonstrate they meet as many of the criteria as possible.

The value of goods or services awarded is at the discretion of the Tayside Contracts Community Fund Panel.

The Tayside Contracts Community Fund Panel is made up of the Managing Director and a Councillor from each of the three local authorities who are members of the Tayside Contracts Joint Committee.

The Tayside Contracts Community Fund Panel reserves the right to exclude applications that do not meet the eligibility criteria and reject submissions and projects that are believed to be incomplete, incomprehensible, false or fraudulent.

Although an application may meet the eligibility criteria, there is no guarantee that it will be supported by the Tayside Contracts Community Fund Panel.

If your application is not approved but you wish to proceed with the goods/services, a new quote will be required to be requested and provided under our normal private/commercial engagement process. Community Fund goods and services are quoted ‘at cost’.

Checklist before applying:
