Restoration Realities

Did You Know? In the world, there are approximately 145 million orphans. In South Carolina, there are more than 5,400 children in foster care. On average, each child will spend four years in care and live in four different homes. As we see these numbers, it seems an insurmountable challenge that God has given us. At the same time, we are continually humbled by what God has done in the Mission 1:27 ministry — just in the past year.

Since the January 2012 launch of Mission 1:27, take a look at what God has done through this ministry and Taylors First Baptist members:

A number of monetary gifts were made to adoptive families to help with associated costs of adoption.

In cooperation with Miracle Hill Ministries, Mission 1:27 hosted its first two-day Foster Care training to certify families for foster care in 2012 and a second in January 2013.

In addition, deliveries of care items such as formula and diapers have been made to a number of local organizations who help women and children; for example, we provided 20 sleepers and 3 cases of baby wipes in addition to bottles and formula to Bethany Christian Services.

Mission 1:27 developed a program for Wrap Around families—families who will help support other foster and adoptive families.

Outreach events have been held—from painting at the Boys’ Home to a cookout for kids from Miracle Hill Ministries. There are many ways for you to be involved! Contact us to find out how you can help! If you are an adoptive or foster family, would you let us know?
