LIFT EVERY VOICE AND SING

Lift every voice and sing Till earth and heaven ring, Ring with the harmonies of Liberty; Let our rejoicing rise High as the listening skies, Let it resound loud as the rolling sea

Sing a song full of the faith that the dark past has taught us, Sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us, Facing the rising sun of our new day begun Let us march on till victory is won.

Stony the road we trod, Bitter the chastening rod, Felt in the days when hope unborn had died; Yet with a steady beat, Have not our weary feet Come to the place for which our fathers sighed?

We have come over a way that, with tears have been watered, We have come, treading our path through the blood of the slaughtered, Out from the gloomy past, Till now, we stand at last Where the white gleam of our bright star is cast

God of our weary years, God of our silent tears, Thou who has brought us thus far on the way; Thou who has by Thy might Led us into the light, Keep us forever in the path, we pray.

Lest our feet stray from the places, Our God, where we met Thee; Lest, our hearts drunk with the wine of the world, we forget Thee; Shadowed beneath Thy hand, May we forever stand True to our GOD, True to our native land

THE ACADMEIC DEGREES

The first known degree was a doctorate conferred by the university of Bologna in the middle of the 12th century. Originally, the doctor's and master's degrees were used interchangeably, each indicating that the holder was qualified to instruct students. the bachelor's or baccalaureate degree indicated only entrance into a course of study preparatory to the doctorate or mastership. Gradually, however, the bachelor's degree came to mean successfully complete of one level of study preparatory to the higher degrees.

Today, more than 1,600 different academic degrees are conferred by colleges and universities in the United States The advanced degrees granted by Life Restoration Academy are the Associate, Master, and Doctor of Philosophy

THE DOCTORAL DEGREE

The traditional black cap and gowns worn by students and faculty in the academic procession have been the historic regalia of scholars since medieval times. Because many scholars of that period were members of monastic orders, the academic regalia probably represents an adaptation of ecclesiastical dress.

THE MASTER'S DEGREE

THE BACHELOR'S DEGREE

THE ACADEMIC REGALIA

The traditional black cap and gowns worn by students and faculty in the academic procession have been the historic regalia of scholars since medieval times. Because many scholars of that period were members of monastic orders, the academic regalia probably represents an adaptation of ecclesiastical dress.

A uniform code for academic regalia was drafted by an intercollegiate commission in 1893 and has since been adopted by most colleges and universities in the united states Each of the three academic dresses bachelor's, master's, and doctoral has its own distinctive gown and hood the gown representing the bachelor's degree is distinguished by its long pointed sleeve The master's gown has a long, narrow, closed sleeve extending below the knee the arm is passed through a slit at the elbow In contrast, the doctor's gown is faced with wide velvet bands, which may be black or a color indicating the general field of learning of the wearer for example, dark blue for philosophy, green for medicine, and purple for law The most colorful and distinctive item of the academic regalia is the hood which passe around the neck and extends down the back The doctor's hood is the largest, and the bachelor's hood is the smallest often the use of a bachelor's hood is omitted the color of the hood indicates the wearer's field of learning and the tassel; the colors of the hood are:

Theology and Divinity Scarlet

The colors of the silk lining in the center of the hood are those of the college or university that conferred the degree. the tassel may be either black or the color of the field of learning. The tassel of the doctor's cap is usually gold.

James Earl Jones (born January 17, 1931) is an American actor. He has been described as "one of America's most distinguished and versatile" actors for his performances in film, television, and theater [1] and "one of the greatest actors in American history".[2] With a career spanning six decades, Jones is among the few performers awarded an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony (EGOT). Jones's voice has been praised as a "stirring basso profondo that has lent gravel and gravitas" to his projects, including live action acting, voice acting, and commercial voice overs.[3][4]

Born with a childhood stutter, Jones said poetry and acting helped him overcome the disability. A pre med major in college, he served in the United States Army during the Korean War before pursuing a career in acting. Since his Broadway debut in 1957, he has performed in several Shakespeare plays, including Othello, Hamlet, Coriolanus, and King Lear.[5] Jones made his film debut in Stanley Kubrick's 1964 film Dr. Strangelove. Jones worked steadily in theater, winning his first Tony Award in 1968 for his role in The Great White Hope, which he reprised in the 1970 film adaptation earning him Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations He received his second Golden Globe Award nomination for his leading role opposite Diahann Carroll in the 1974 romantic comedy drama film Claudine Jones gained international fame for providing the voice of Darth Vader in the Star Wars franchise, beginning with the original 1977 film

He won his second Tony Award in 1987 for his role in August Wilson's Fences Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Jones appeared in several other successful films, including Conan the Barbarian (1982), Matewan (1987), Coming to America (1988), Field of Dreams (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), The Sandlot (1993), and The Lion King (1994) During the 21st century, Jones has continued working in the theater, starring alongside Phylicia Rashad in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof in 2008 and Angela Lansbury in Gore Vidal's The Best Man (2012) on Broadway and in an Australian tour of Driving Miss Daisy (2013)
