A CY CYCLIST has spoken of his shock and confusion after sho be being beaten up by thugs w while riding home from work near Didcot Railway w Station in a seemingly ranS dom attack. d Tomasz Gumulka, 23, had stopped to repair a flat ha tyr in Station Road on Frityre day when w he was kicked in the face. He spoke s of his ordeal on Tuesday as police appealed for witnesses to come forward. Mr Gumulka said: “I don’t know what happened, we are on the ground, they kicked me in the face and messed up my bicycle. “They are idiots.” A 24-year-old man from Didcot has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning ABH, and has been released on bail until April 27. The assault between 4.10pm and 4.20pm near Foxhall Road bridge left Mr Gumulka with cuts and bruises to his face but he did not go to hospital. He added: “My tyre was flat,

so I went to change it and I see two guys and one of these guys tries to grab my pump. “I said ‘what are you doing’ and he punched me, so I pushed him back and his friend punched me.” Mr Gumulka said he did not remember hitting the ground and did not recognise the men. The pair then stamped on his bike and threw it in a nearby bush before stealing his backpack and throwing it onto the neighbouring railway track. One of the offenders is described as white, in his late 20s and of muscular build, and was wearing a white t-shirt and dark jeans. The other is also white, around the same age and was wearing a dark t-shirt and dark coloured jeans. Anyone with information about the attack is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.
