Delay to start of Orchard work sparks frustration (01672) 516797
CONFUSION has arisen over when work on a £50m extension to Didcot’s Orchard shopping centre is to begin. A schedule of works for expanding the Orchard Centre was published in May, showing how it was supposed to have started on August 1. Work to demolish redundant warehousing on the site of the extension took place in March, but building work on the project has not yet got under way. The development is due to

A DIDCOT dad with mentalhealth issues died as a result of injuries sustained in a road traffic accident, a coroner ruled last Thursday. Thirty-year-old Chris Doman, of Nuffield Close, was killed on March 1 in the car crash on the B4015 Jubilee Way. His silver Rover was involved in the collision with a red Skoda, being driving in the opposite

The younger of two children, Mr Doman had moments previously stormed out of his home following an argument with his partner. The ASDA warehouse
worker in Sutton Courtney had a history of mental-health issues and was on the anti-depressant medication citalopram. The court heard he also had a history of self-harming and suicidal thoughts and had previously tried to kill himself on two occasions in 2011 and 2012. But assistant Oxfordshire coroner Nicholas Graham concluded that there was not enough
evidence to suggest his death was suicide. The court heard how Mr Doman had suffered a life of relationship, fi nancial and occupational difficulties. He had worked at the ASDA warehouse for two years, but he had endured long periods of unemployment. He lived with his VË Í ÖjÄË Ë¬?~jËÏ
