Residents call for roads tsar to fix ‘crisis point’ A40 highway WITNEY campaigners have urged the Prime Minister to call in a Government’s infrastructure chief to solve West Oxfordshire’s road woes. The Witney Oxford Transport (WOT) group sent the letter to David Cameron in response to news last week that Lord Adonis will be called in to combat deadlocked traffic on the A34 in Oxfordshire. They asked
By Alex Ballinger Mr Cameron to extend his remit to West Oxfordshire too. Mr Cameron’s office responded to the group to say he had seen their letter and had himself written to Lord Adonis on their behalf.

Didcot Three still not found
A FOOTBALL pitch worth of debris has been cleared from the wreckage of Didcot A Power Station but the three missing men have still not been found. A full rescue operation started one month ago on March 19, almost four weeks after the main building collapsed on February 23 killing 53-year-old Mick Collings,
from North Yorkshire. Ken Cresswell, 57, John Shaw, 61, both of Rotherham and Christopher Huxtable, 34 from Swansea are still trapped under the rubble. Recovery teams have so far cleared up to 40m of the 20,000 tonnes of material on the ground and released photos yesterday (above) showing the scale of the mission.
