Family’s anger at leak of 999 emergency call Woman ‘fortunate’ after car crashes into ditch
A WOMAN was taken to hospital after a car skidded off the road and into a ditch near Thame. The woman crashed her car into a ditch on Thame Park Road between Thame and Postcombe shortly after midday on Friday last week. Firefighters arrived quickly and provided fi rst aid treatment to the driver and stabilised the vehicle. Fire crews from Oxfordshire County Council Fire & Rescue Service and Buckinghamshire & Milton
Keynes Fire and Rescue Service, from Thame, Haddenham and Aylesbury fi re stations attended the scene. Ambulance and police were also required and took the female driver to hospital. Watch manager Andy Ford said: “The injuries sustained could have been far worse if the driver had not been wearing her seat belt. “She was very fortunate to have not collided with other cars coming the other way.”
The fi re service warned motorists to take care on the roads as wintery conditions continue to blight the county. Mr Ford added: “We have attended a number of road traffic collisions in the area this year already. “I would urge drivers to slow down and take the road conditions into account at this time of year, especially now the weather is turning colder and roads maybe icy in places.”

In a statement, the pop star’s family said: “George’s family and friends are extremely upset and truly appalled that such a personal, painful and clearly confidential recording has been leaked. “On their behalf we will be ensuring that a full investigation takes place to establish how this material was made available and we will expect the culprit(s) to be dealt with appropriately.” It continued: “We firmly believe that anyone contacting the emergency authorities in situations such as this should be entitled to expect that recordings will not be released to the media and it is deeply distressing to the family VË Í ÖjÄË Ë¬?~jËÏ
