A £23MILLION project to build a multi-storey car park with 800 extra car parking spaces at Didcot Parkway station has been unveiled. Work could start as early as this year to build additional levels over the existing long-stay car park in Foxhall Road as part of the project to ease parking congestion in the town. cars, on top of the present 996 spaces. The funding also includes a revamped footbridge leading from the car park to the station over the railway line. Martin Connolly, 81, of Ladygrove, said: “I would imagine it would help out the people of

the town. It would defi nitely help bring further business to Didcot. “I think people don’t come to Didcot sometimes due to the lack of parking as the station is always so full.” Reading to Didcot commuter Olga Florec said: “It would be great as it could potentially ease traffic in the city and these plans could potentially de-clutter it.” • Continues on page 3
