Inglewood , California
*Made in collaboration with Nathaniel Bassan and Anthony Gonzalez
As an adaptation to the reliance on technology and remote working environments, the Inglewood social house features various third spaces where the community can exchange of knowledge and experiences. The building provides an extension of Market St, developing a walkable promenade and enclosed space where locals can work remotely, and students can use as a third space away from school. The big gesture that embodies the ideal communal space is a terraced landscape, oriented towards a floating auditorium space that serves as a spectacle for those working in the library.
Pomona, California
This project features a dynamic atrium created by stacking blocks of varying heights, facilitating natural stacked ventilation. The facade blends concrete, fritted glass, and transparent glass to offer light control and viusal interest. Designed to be inclusive, the school welcomes students from all disciplines with pathways that seamlessly connect different areas of the campus.
California
Inspired by the artistic vibrancy of Irvine, Chords and Colors Creative school follows Pablo Picasso’s exploration of instruments in his painting Musical Score and Guitar. The design retains portions of the original building’s walls while adding dynamic volumes that emerge from the existing structure, echoing Picasso’s layered approach. The spaces are organized in plan by to indicate function: blue for traditional art, orange for music, and green as a fusion of the two disciplines. This adaptive reuse project celebrates the intersection of art, music, and community in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
Los Angeles, California
Made under the instruction of architects Oliver Lütjens and Sebastian Multerer, the cousins collective reimagines Richard Neutra’s VDL House with an addition resembling the “cousin” Lina Bo Bardi’s Casa Coatí. The narrative reads that the cousins had a love/hate relationship, once having a heated argument that led to Bo Bardi punching a hole in the wall, resulting in the funny shaped windows.
