Hi friend, It was raining skills at TSSDC Pune. While our facilitators train the youth on skills every day, 15th July, the World Youth Skills Day gave us the chance to celebrate skills of a various other trades. So the day welcomed a Cook to show his culinary skills, a creator to showcase his painting skills, an artist in the digital space, an alumni who makes her living by designing jewellery!

It was a SKILLOMANIA at the Pune Center with learners engrossed in experiencing the skills of various kinds under 1 roof! The winner though was unanimous - Rohini Waghmare, whose story is right on the cover page. This warrior, who is an alumnus of Assistant Beauty Therapist Batch 3 of TSSDC Pune Center, now also owns a Rickshaw and runs it within Pune City. Besides giving services as a Beauty therapist, she has also learnt the art of making daily wear bangles, bracelets etc. And you can't miss to see a lot of content in the simple smile on her face.

1) Rohini Waghmare, (Alumni– ABT 3), provides home services as a Beauty therapist, makes Jewellery and sells it and is also an Auto rickshaw driver. Rohini gave live Jewellery making demo and displayed Jewellery made by her which was bought by our learners and facilitators.

2) Sumeet Dabrase, (Facilitator for Hospitality - Tata STRIVE), gave live demo of how to easily prepare snacks - Coleslaw sandwich, Canopy, Homemade mayonnaise sauce, Pickled sandwich.

3) Priya Kothari, (Board member of CYDA, In charge of Entrepreneurship), facilitated our learners on Business Entrepreneurship and what qualities they must imbibe in themselves to become successful in their career graph.

4) Mohit Kaundanya (Area training manager of OYO Hotels), facilitated learners on Grooming skills and Hospitality etiquettes.

5) Aaryan Dolare (Artist - Dnyandeep Balgruha), displayed his paintings. He also shared his journey so far and how he is now able to sell his paintings.

6) Mangesh Kuwar (Artist and Graphic designer), imparted knowledge about Fine arts, Painting and Digital graphic designing skills which will help learners earn additional income while doing their daily jobs.

Gauri Shinde, a learner from GDA8, received appreciation from Columbia Asia Hospital Board, for her exemplary work as a ’Ward Secretary’. She was a bright learner in her batch and now her remarkable work also made her an outstanding performer.

My name is Dipali Kadam. I am from Pune. I have done FYBA. Then I worked as a Tele-caller for 3 months. But somewhere I was not happy. As I really wanted to be in Healthcare sector. Due to family responsibility I couldn’t think of anything else, my mother works as a cook and father is a painter.

Life seemed to be challenging. One fine day from my class teacher I got to know about TATA STRIVE, as he heard of it through some reference. I visited Tata STRIVE Skill Development Centre, Pune, and I was glad to know that I can get enrolled in General Duty Assistant course.

I decided to join the same but on the other hand my family denied. I had to convince them to the core believing in me to complete the course and get the job of my dreams. Somehow they agreed but not willfully. I took it as a challenge and joined in GDA10 Batch.

I am glad I got support from facilitators during Domain & YDM training, which enabled me to gain knowledge and confidence. Coaching helped me to stick to my goal. At times it was difficult to attend the class but I didn’t forget my promise to my parents which kept me focused besides all odds. I successfully completed my course. I got selected in Batra’s Clinic as a Assistant Therapist.

I would like to thank TATA STRIVE For giving me an opportunity to join GDA Course to enable me to achieve my dreams and make my parents feel proud of me. Thank you TATA STRIVE! Dipali Kadam (GDA 10)

After graduation she was urgently looking for a job as her family was struggling to meet their daily needs. Her father is a farmer and she has two younger sisters and both are in school. She wanted to support her family financially. Maheshwari got to know about Tata Strive from the Orientation program in her College. She was determined to make her career & chose BFSI-BDE course to achieve her goals. She put in all the dedication and became the outstanding performer of the batch.

With the help of coaching and YDM activities she became an excellent candidate to be hired for.
