Beyond The Classroom

TASIS DORADO SUPPORTS AND ENRICHES

THE HOLISTIC STUDENT EXPERIENCE IN AND OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM.

Strategic Priority

Promote a holistic educational framework that emphasizes student extracurricular development in the arts, athletics, and extracurricular activities replete with opportunities to foster creativity, emotional intelligence, interpersonal skills, ethical values, improved health and well-being, and leadership with the goal of graduating students who are compassionate, responsible, resourceful, and engaged members of society.

SHORT-TERM GOALS

• Through purposeful dialogues on TASIS Core Values, cultivate social-emotional skills, selfawareness, a sense of belonging and well-being while strengthening student relationships through empathy and respect.

• Maximize opportunities for student growth and leadership through Wellness Week, Exploration Days, Leadership Academy, extracurricular clubs and sports, and service learning in all divisions.

• Hire a Wellness and Athletic Center (WAC) Director and divisional Wellness Coordinators to help execute new WAC programming and build time into the daily schedule for wellness programming.

MID-TERM GOALS

• Refine and elevate our PK – 12th grade Physical Education and Athletics programming, events, and facilities usage fostering school spirit while augmenting our Health and Wellness Curriculum focus on mental and emotional well-being.

• Offer expanded after-school activities, summer learning programs, and short-term camps during breaks to support our community and expand non-tuition revenues.

• Renew our students’ connection to nature by developing programs that feature our beautiful Wellness Garden, outdoor classroom and recreational spaces, and close proximity to the ocean.

LONG-TERM GOALS

• Revive former immersive, multiple-week summer learning programs in Spanish-language study and environmentally-focused research for secondary-aged students on island and abroad.

• Develop and market a student-led Student Leadership Conference through our TASIS Leadership Academy offered to our own student body and others in surrounding communities.

• Initiate partnerships with mission-aligned organizations in Dorado, such as Doctors’ Center Hospital Orlando Health, and other entities in the greater San Juan Metroplex to further advance TASIS Dorado programs, internships, Exploration Week, and outreach on the island.
