Academic Profile 2019-2020 The TASIS School in Dorado, Puerto Rico is a private, non-sectarian, coeducational day school which has English as its language of instruction, with the exception of Spanish, Puerto Rican History and other World Language courses. The school opened for its first academic year in August 2002.

Accreditation
The TASIS School in Dorado is licensed as a private school by the pertinent governmental licensing agency, the “Consejo de Educación de Puerto Rico.” It is also accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and by the “Comisión Acreditadora de Instituciones Educativas” (CADIE). The Middle States Association (MSA) of Colleges and Schools has also awarded TASIS Dorado a Program of Distinction Award for its Early Childhood Education Program (Pre-Pre-Kindergarten through First Grade). TASIS Dorado is the first school to receive this prestigious recognition in the United States.

Student Body
71% of the student body are Puerto Rican, 23% come from the continental United States and 6% from abroad. More than ten different first languages are spoken in the homes of our students. The TASIS School in Dorado seeks to be enriched by multiple, cultural, language, and social exchanges brought about by the integration of all families. Maximum class size is 20 students, with an overall student-teacher ratio of 9 to 1.
Faculty There are 107 full-time faculty, over 53% of whom possess or are in the process of completing a Master’s Degree or Doctorate in education or in their field of specialty.
Curriculum & Special Programs
The TASIS School in Dorado offers a college preparatory program that prepares students for universities and colleges in the United States, Puerto Rico, and worldwide. Students are expected to master skills and content, to become more inquisitive and analytical, to develop research skills, and to organize and present their learning in both verbal and written form. In 2016, we opened an MIT-certified STEAM-focused Fab Lab, equipped with a CNC machine, laser cutter, 3D printers, and scanners.
