The Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) aspires to be a dynamic, collaborative environment that inspires the TASIS Dorado community to learn together, exchange ideas, and problem-solve. Combining the expertise of faculty and administrators, professional development workshops, and student support services, the CITL enriches teaching and learning by encouraging interdisciplinary discussions and inspiring forward-thinking educational practices.

The second floor of the new two-story TD HUB student center will serve as home to the CITL. This creatively designed space will offer inspiration for collaborative projects, specialized classes, and virtual learning, serving as a portal to bringing the world to TASIS Dorado and TASIS Dorado to the world.

PROGRAM GOALS

Build a culture of inquiry, experimentation, and collaboration among students, faculty, and the greater TASIS Dorado community

Foster reflective teaching and learning practices in order for faculty to create a robust and responsive culture of learning for their students

Offer a range of services and emerging technologies for all students to maximize their learning potential

Teach digital citizenship, information and media literacy, and effective research and writing skills

5

Support faculty scholarship and professional development with a focus on student-centered pedagogies and innovative curriculum design

Create opportunities to engage in real-world issues, exchange ideas on a global scale, and serve as a portal bringing the world to TASIS Dorado and TASIS Dorado to the world

A strengths-based approach to help students develop tools, self-awareness, and advocacy skills to become confident, active, and independent learners

2 Academic coaching and reinforcement, including study skills, test prep, organization, time management, and other executive function tools

3 Expanded Writing Lab for all secondary students

4 Student-led Writing Fellows Program to help peers with all stages of the writing process

5 Enhanced educational opportunities through experiential learning using Design Thinking, Project-Based Learning (PBL), game theory, and flipped classrooms

6 Emerging technology workshops on augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, blockchain technology, and digital marketing analytics

7 Expanded educational opportunities through Global Online Academy (GOA) courses, eSports or CodeQuest competitions, and collaborative research projects through AP Seminar and Capstone or GOA’s Catalyst Exhibition

8 Partner with community organizations for internships and service learning to enrich individual growth, civic responsibility, and engagement with the world beyond our campus

BRINGING THE WORLD TO TASIS DORADO AND TASIS DORADO TO THE WORLD

After a rigorous application process, TASIS Dorado has joined the Global Online Academy (GOA), an elite consortium of top-rated private schools that provides accredited course offerings for students and teachers. The mission of GOA is to reimagine learning to empower students and educators to thrive in a globally networked society.

Through this membership, TASIS Dorado will leverage a powerful global network of 120 leading independent institutions to amplify passiondriven learning for middle school and high school students. Accredited course offerings include classes in social sciences, math & technology, science & health, art, media & design, and foreign languages.

Our faculty will also have opportunities to enrich their instructional practices with access to leading thinkers and innovative educators. Joining the GOA is a key step forward in bringing the world to TASIS Dorado and TASIS Dorado to the world.

Unique spaces in the CITL, such as the eLearning and Flex Classrooms and Virtual Teaching Pods, will be instrumental in leveraging this partnership.
