Uniform Expectations
The TAS uniform aims to contribute to a safe and inclusive school environment which is conducive to learning and personal growth.
These guidelines have been established to assist students in making appropriate decisions about their presentation and grooming. They aim to enhance the personal dignity of the student and promote the identity of the school in the wider community. This policy seeks to balance the individual rights of students with their responsibilities as ambassadors of the school, while also reducing potential peer pressure regarding dress choices.
All TAS students are expected to take pride in the school uniform and in their appearance. Students are expected to adhere to the school’s uniform and appearance guidelines outlined below. Students will be regularly reminded of these guidelines by staff and may access them anytime online.
While equity is an important principle in this policy,
it is acknowledged that there will be occasions when different expectations will apply. In cases of discrepancies or uncertainty, the Senior Leadership Team will make the final decision.
Amendments to the uniform for cultural, religious, or physical reasons can potentially be accommodated and should be discussed with the Principal.
Students who, for any reason, are unable to meet the guidelines (due to injury, lost items, etc.) should notify their teacher or Head of House.
Repeated breaches of the uniform guidelines will result in disciplinary action in accordance with the school’s behaviour management process. Parents and carers are encouraged to support the correct wearing of the school uniform.
General Rules
Students are to arrive at school and to leave properly dressed in full uniform, including wearing the school hat for Years 3 and above. Students in Prep to Years 2 should also wear a hat to and from school for sun safety.
