Heswall Societyâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s border patrol When the Heswall Society heard that Wirral Borough Council no longer intended to maintain the flower beds in front of Castle Buildings, in Heswall, they decided to take some action. The council intended to grass over the original flower beds to save money. With permission from the Council, the Heswall Society set about planting colourful flowering plants in the flower beds in front of the Castle Buildings shops beside Telegraph Road. Old flower beds have been replanted and pansies planted on the perimeter of the rose beds. The new planting, by Heswall Society volunteers, brightens these flower beds in the centre of Heswall. Paul awarded Freedom of the City of London Heswall-born Paul Evans, historian, genealogist and the head of the library and archives at the Royal Artillery Museum in Woolwich, has received the Freedom of the City of London.
