Nestled in the rolling hills of the Huasna Valley, Tar Creek Ranch offers a picturesque escape where history and natural beauty come together in perfect harmony. Just 5 minutes from the Arroyo Grande Village, the ranch feels wonderfully secluded yet remains conveniently close to everything.
Tar Creek Ranch is available as a full weekend rental, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the beauty of the property. With multiple settings to host your events from welcome to farewell, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to enjoy the ranch and celebrate with those closest to you.
If you choose our Homestead Package, you’ll also enjoy an additional evening in the Ranch House after your celebration, giving you the perfect space to relax, unwind, and reflect on the amazing memories you ’ ve just created.

Tar Creek Ranch spans 100 acres, surrounded by the natural beauty of pepper trees, oaks, magnolia trees, wildflowers, and meticulously landscaped gardens filled with lavender and roses.
With a manicured lawn and five unique event spaces, the ranch is thoughtfully designed for a seamless flow from the moment of arrival to the final dance of the night.

Built in the late 1920s and lovingly restored by the owners of Tar Creek Ranch, the barn serves as the heart of the property.
Spanning 3,500 square feet, the barn features a full wrap-around bar with a convenient pass-through window to the Garden Perfect for up to 120 people for dining, 160 for dancing. Prep kitchen equipped with professional-grade sinks, an ice maker, and a refrigerator
Permanent Restroom Facilities
Magnolia Pavilion is the ideal setting for reception dining, accommodating up to 200 guests and surrounded by picturesque long grasses and wildflowers. Includes a convenient catering area hidden from guests, with a passthrough for seamless service. The pavilion is beautifully lit with bistro lighting and adorned with two chandeliers.
During the cooler months from October to June, the top is transformed into a clear tent, Removable Clear Sides
The Garden welcomes your guests with a beautifully landscaped path leading to a charming gathering area with fountains and a manicured lawn. This versatile space can be used for ceremonies, al fresco dining, or lawn games for your guests.
The area opens up to a cocktail space featuring 10 barrel-topped cocktail tables with stools and a convenient pass-through window to the Barn’s bar— ideal for cocktail hour.
After dinner, your guests can unwind around one of two gas fire pits, perfect for relaxing and catching up with loved ones!
The Meadow is our newest space option, offering a romantic setting for your ceremony amidst wildflowers, grasses, and a stunning ridgeline that remains green year-round. It's also an idyllic spot for photos, where golden hour casts a magical glow over this wild, natural space where deer roam freely.

The Ranch House offers 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and comfortably sleeps 12. Thoughtfully furnished and designed with meticulous attention to detail, the home is bathed in natural light, making it an ideal setting for your beauty team.
Whether hosting out-of-town guests or using it as a luxurious Bridal Suite, you’ll find the space perfect for your needs. The Master Suite features a spacious bathroom, perfect for your beauty preparations, along with a relaxing soaking tub.
The fully equipped kitchen is ready for a private chef, while the backyard provides an idyllic setting for a rehearsal dinner, post-wedding brunch, or simply unwinding by the firepit as you soak in the serene ambiance of the ranch.

Tar Creek Ranch was a dream venue to have our wedding at. The barn is breathtaking, the landscaping is beautiful, and the overall feel of this venue was everything we could have ever wanted. My (now) wife and I just got married here over the weekend. Coming from LA, we weren't very familiar with the area, but now the central coast and AG hold a special place in our heart. Matthew the owner and Holly the venue manager are so easy to work with. We told them what we were looking for in a venue and they checked all our boxes. We absolutely love the property and our guests were so impressed wondering how we even found the place. The propane fire pits are large and fully inflamed at night, perfect for our elderly family members that get cold easily. The two-way bar is so much fun and keeps your cocktail hour and reception so concise. Our bartender said it's one of their favorite bars to work at. The inside of the barn is absolutely stunning and we love having the option to do the reception dinner inside or outside. The ranch house was the perfect compliment for the rehearsal dinner, and getting ready the day of. Having the entire grounds for the wedding weekend is such a luxury. Everything is modern and elegant while maintaining the relaxing rustic ranch vibe we were going for. As we were leaving the property two days after getting married, I was getting emotional as I realized how much I'll miss this place. The only thing I regret is not exploring the property more as there is a lot of surrounding wilderness to enjoy. All guests hosting wedding events at Tar Creek Ranch are required to engage the services of an event planner. You have the flexibility to choose between a Day-of, Month-of, or Full-Service Planner to suit your needs. It's important to note that the event planner should not have any affiliation with the wedding party or be a guest at the event.
While we love working with our preferred vendors, we welcome new ones too. However, any outside vendors must be approved by us before finalizing your contracts with them. We kindly ask that they provide all necessary licenses, permits, and certifications for a smooth coordination process prior to your date. Our Preferred Vendor List can be found by clicking here.
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own alcohol to the event. However, for your safety and the smooth running of the celebration, we require that all alcohol be served through a professional bartender service. This ensures responsible serving practices and a worry-free experience for all.
A $2000 security deposit is required upon contract signing to secure your wedding date. The first payment of 50% is due 120 days before your wedding, followed by a second payment of 25% due 60 days before the wedding. The final balance is due 7 days prior to your wedding.
