Culture Guernica Atmospheres This is my Thesis Project that I designed for Madrid. Here I explore the interrelation between architecture and art.

My aim was to design a museum dedicated to showcase Picasso’s «Guernica» and create «Guernica Atmospheres» in the building for a coherent experience of the painting.

Research of history of the painting, Spain and Madrid helped me to determine location and programme of the building. Experiments with collages and concept models gave me a sense of spaces.

In order to make the building function, I made alterations to meet lux level regulations.

The building is buried in the ground, so I investigated the structural design of underground spaces.

Culture/Conservation: Athenaeum of Antiques This is a design for an auction house inspired

by Sir John Soane’s Museum. It is category C listed building in Glasgow West End. The purpose of this project was to establish a brief and respond to the context.

Investigations into history and functions of the site defined the programme of the building. Analysis of location architectonics supplemented by research in regulations established the path to connecting the design of the building with the context.

A significant part of this project was dedicated to making the building sustainable.

I undertook tests in structures, materials, light design, etc. to develop an appropriate technological strategy.

Re s i d e n t i a l / C o n s e r v a t i o n : Victoria Infirmary

This is a proposal for redevelopment of category B listed Victoria Hospital in Glasgow Southside.

The brief required to design a strategy to reanimate hospital building and its territory that functioned from 1890 to 2015.

It was a group project, where every member had her/his own tasks. I was responsible for the design of public spaces.

I designed a central promenade with terraces that have a variety of sports activities and social amenities: cafes, pavilions, resting places, etc. Moreover, I created a public square that could be used as a space for community gatherings, festivals and markets.

Residential/Urban Planning: Yanino Area: 52.1 hectares Client: Konstruktiv I was working on this project during my placement at St. Petersburg Research Design Institute of Urbanism.

The client requested to establish red lines and buildings construction zones in an unoccupied territory in the North of St. Petersburg.

I was in charge of working on Russian equivalent of Stages 1-4 of RIBA Plan of Work. I contributed to establishing strategic brief and project programme as well as delivered information at public discussions.

The project received planning permission and is now in construction stage.
