About Me
Kia Ora! I'm Tara Falconer, a Bachelor of Design graduate from New Zealand, dedicated to promoting social and environmental well-being.
I enjoy hands-on creativity through activities like crochet, sewing, printmaking, and more. Additionally, I have a passion for exploring nature and traveling.

Passion Project
My final capstone project from my university course remains a significant representation of my passions and interests as a designer. It was chosen as a finalist in the 2023 Best Awards and I wrote a research paper on it that is published in the 2023 DAT Journal. The project is called ‘Grounding’ and explores ecofeminism and the healing powers of nature. It includes a hand-bound book, laser-cut token set, prompt card set, and handmade embroidered bags.
Throughout my time at university I gained extensive experience designing, printing and binding books. I also researched, edited and wrote the content for them.
Publication Design
Silenced & Stigmatised Exploring experiences of menstruation taboo and poverty across the globe.
During my time at MEA Mobile I worked on many web pages for our wide range of products. It was a challenge creating product imagery without having the physical products to photograph so I gained a lot of skills in Photoshop. I also helped improve our website designs and layouts.
Website Design
Various brands based in the USA and Canada, including several Spanish brands.
Social Media Management
During my time at MEA Mobile, I managed several of the brands' social media accounts, contributing to the growth of their online presence. I also contributed to caption writing, reel creation, and story posting. I primarily used Sked to schedule and post online.
Product design and imagery
Working with MEA Mobile gave me the opportunity to create many templates for the various products our brands sold. I also created realistic product imagery for social media with these. I created hundreds of templates during my time with MEA for art prints, mugs, photo cards, and more that are still available to purchase.

Completed a summer internship with a fulltime offer upon graduation, working with international brands and gaining skills in branding, design, animation, social media, copywriting, and video editing.

I was chosen as the Design Leader in my final year, taking on extra responsibilities such as running clubs, helping with projects, and designing promotional material I recieved top in design and photography, as well as the senior art cup, a service award, and three NZQA monetary scholarships in design, photography, and English.
