EXHIBITION / MIXED MEDIA

“BurlyBearyBeefyBlokes” by Peter Skirrow 1-6 March The love and admiration for the larger, more hairy heavily built male is the subject of Peter Skirrow’s latest exhibition “BurlyBearyBeefyBlokes”. In his art Skirrow explores two taboo areas. The admiration of strong and hyper masculine men is well accepted in our sports loving nation. But these men are more often than not a sanitised version of what masculinity is all about. Where is the smell of sweat, the rugged faces, the heavy package of trouser trouble, the overt sexuality of man as animal? Where is the vulnerability & emotion between these masculine men and their lovers? Forget the sports pages. Forget the social pages. They are to be found in Peter Skirrow’s sensual and sexual works. “BurlyBearyBeefyBlokes” features stylish black & white graphite drawings, watercolours, works in coloured pencil and in other media, and is probably Skirrow’s most arousing & sexually charged work to date.

Opening Night: Monday 28th Feb 6pm. Free to attend. All Welcome!
