Your favorite orchestra is turning 80! What an amazing landmark, to have stayed relevant in our community all of these years. Indeed, the Toledo Symphony is not just an orchestra in Toledo but truly Toledo’s Orchestra. Throughout the season, we will celebrate the diversity of our community through the arts with all of you!

Our season opens with a world premiere by Barbara Assiginaak—an Odawa First Nations composer—that celebrates the largest public mural in North America, our very own Glass City River Wall. In November, we will have a big birthday bash with a program that pays tribute to the very first concert by the Toledo Symphony. And in the spring of 2024, when Toledo is in the direct viewing path of the total solar eclipse, we will present Gustav Holst’s The Planets with a new suite of Planets commissioned especially for this occasion.

In addition to some of the most iconic works in the repertoire, including The Rite of Spring, Pictures at an Exhibition, Saint-Saëns’ Organ Symphony, and concertos by Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff, we look forward to continuing our partnership with the Toledo Jazz Orchestra and presenting two of Tchaikovsky’s greatest ballets, The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty with Toledo Ballet.

The KeyBank Pops series features an eclectic mix of instrumentalists and vocalists performing the music of Coldplay, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Otis Reading, Fleetwood Mac and more. Visionary composer, conductor, producer, and songwriter Steve Hackman melds the music of Beethoven’s Eroica Symphony with the melodies and lyrics of Coldplay for a perfect modern pairing. Redefining what it means to be a cross-over artist, Daniel Emmet’s vocals burst with operatic power, yet is mellowed by pop sensitivity. Tony DeSare will get you in the holiday spirit with his holiday mash-ups and musical antics. The Kings of Soul will have you on your feet with their soulful rhythms and nostalgic melodies.
