3 Ways to Go Green People are becoming more eco-conscious every day, and your attendees will appreciate any attempt you make to show you are too.

Instead of having cut flowers at your tables, why not use potted plants like succulents? This is not only better for the environment, but can double as a great giveaway for your attendees.

Have recycle bins out, and visible, for your guests to use. And they don’t have to be blue bins — this is a great opportunity to add to the theme of your event by using an innovative container as your bin.

Don’t Forget to Include Down Time! Constantly networking and being engaged can get exhausting, and to avoid attendee burnout, why not create quiet spaces where your guests can relax without having to escape to their hotel room? This can be as simple as having a space with comfortable seating, quiet music, and some healthy snacks available. You could also go one step further, and hire a professional to take your attendees through a guided meditation. Meditation has been an event trend for years now, and will continue to grow in 2017 as more people are embracing the idea of taking a moment to disconnect from social media and the stresses of their lives.

3  Create Behind-the-Scenes Videos Facebook Live has created a unique opportunity to share live video on one of the largest social networks in the world. It also requires nothing more than a smartphone, and you can broadcast for up to 90 minutes, after which the video is available for anyone who missed the live feed. This is a great tool to show the behind-the-scenes of an event, like the work it takes to transform a room, attendee interviews, or informal Q & A sessions with keynote speakers.

To celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary, admission to all National Parks is free in 2017! If you are hosting an event near one of these parks — Wood Buffalo, Jasper, Banff, Yoho, Elk Island, or Waterton Lakes — this is the perfect opportunity to add an outdoor experience to the agenda.

Have ways for people to label their glasses so that they can reuse them throughout the event. This is also a fun way to get people interacting with each other, and a nice alternative to the typical nametag.
