In the spring of 2004, the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts reached the age of 250. This was celebrated with much festivity, both at the School of Art and at the
School of Architecture. In connection with the 250th anniversary, two fine arts students, Katrine Dirckinck-Holmfeld and Honey Biba Beckerlee took the initiative to mark the fact that women had only been admitted to the Academy for 96 years, thus were not part of the anniversary as such. Tanja Jordan and Rikke Lequick Larsen, represented the School of Architecture, and participated as exhibitor and speaker in panel debates. We promished later, to celebrate the womens 100 year anniversary in 2008.
This publication is a documentation of the work that took place in connection with the anniversary in 2008. Thus, this book contains synopses and speeches from the symposium, an overview of the exhibition, video interviews produced in connection with the anniversary as well as articles written exclusively for this publication.
