Byleveragingcomputationaltechniques,wedevelopedaresponsivesystemthatadaptsto theexistingstructure.Contextualmodelingresolveditsformandstructure,whileautomated drawinggenerationenablediterativerefinements,ensuringaseamlessfusionofheritageand innovation. heritageandinnovation.

Tooptimizetheformforcost-effectiveandefficientconstruction,wesegmenteditintostandardized modulesof150mmand600mm,derivedthroughcurvatureanalysis. Thisapproachbalancedprecision withpracticality,ensuringthecurve’sessenceisretainedwhilesimplifyingfabricationandassembly.

Thepositionwhereeachkinkoftheinnersteelmemberintersectedthegridwasgivenacoordinatewith respecttothemarkedorigin.Positionsofcont.verticalmembersofdimension100x50werealsofiguredout atstrategiclocationsforsupport.

AGrasshopperscriptwasdevelopedtooptimizethefabricationprocessbylayingthevertical steelmembers flat,inpositionswithminimaldeviationalongtheXandYaxes.Thisensured efficientmaterialusageandeaseofassembly.Thescriptalsoautomatedthelabelingof dimensionsandthegenerationofdetailedfabricationdrawings,streamliningsiteexecution byreducingmanualadjustmentsanderrors.

PROJECTBRIEF:

Theintersectionofcomputationaldesignandadvancedfabricationopensnewfrontiersin architecture.Data-DrivenVoronoiexploresthissynergy,leveragingtheVoronoidiagramto generateadynamic,performance-drivensystem.

Throughscriptingandsimulations,werefinedanemergentstructure anetworkof cavernoushoneycombvoids,eachscaledtoaccommodateitsintendeduse.Thelargest spaces,suchassportsandmultipurposehalls,actascentralattractors,withauxiliary functionsbranchingorganicallywithintheirVoronoishells,creatingaself-organizing architecturalecosystem.

Thescripttakesupvaryingstreetpatternsandthendividesthemonthebasisoftheirpointsof discontinuity.Pointswherethedegreeofcurvaturechangesdrasticallybecomesnodeswhich dictatethesizesoftheotherstreetspheres.

Thescriptthenreadstheexceldatatounderstandspatialrelationsandhierarchyandgenerate aspacesyntaxdiagramwhichdictatesthepositionofaparticularfunctioninspacewrttoother functions
