Observation Contour Drawing Through observation of a space, a free-drawn perspective is able to be drawn. This technique gives the ability to quickly construct a perspective view to capture the overall layout and design of a interior.

Light, Shadow & Color Knowing how light, shadow and color affects a space makes sure that a space is rendered realistically. Having this skill helps the viewer of the render understand how light hits each surface and produces shadows within the space.

Sketch Journal Hand-drawing and Photoshop techniques improved through weekly sketch journal entries. This gave the opportunity to learn about famous furnishings while also taking into consideration their shape so that they were drawn accurately.

Perspective Drawing, Rendering & Design Process Through one-point and modified one-point perspectives, a unique sculpted space was drafted. Pencil and marker renderings helped bring the space to life through the indentification of light and shadow that would be found in the interior.With this information, a SketchUp model was constructed based on the studies and further modified through Photoshop.

Composition Through various exercises, Photoshop and Illustrator skills were improved. This was possible by creating images in which the goal was to “visualize what is not visual.� Understanding color, texture, balance, and contrast made this possible.

Conclusion Presentation Techniques has improved my hand-drawing, hand rendering, digital modeling and digital rendering skills. I am now aware of new ways of achieving a realistic render through the investigation of light and shadows of a space. I am also now confident to use different media to render by hand whether it be through Prisma markers, pencil, watercolor, ink or color pencil.
