Moc přeji takový start do čtvrté dekády i České taneční platformě!

INTRODUCTION
My thirties – a cherished memory of my youth – marked the beginning of one of the most beautiful stages of my life. I wholeheartedly wish the Czech Dance Platform a fantastic start to its fourth decade!
This perspective of mine may not be universally shared. While I understand Martin Macháček's notion of the "demonized thirties", rest assured, by the age of 60, you'll likely perceive it as a cherished period of youth. Speaking of Mr. Macháček, it's worth mentioning that he is the sole Czech representative in the Dramaturgical Council of the platform this year, responsible for selecting works for the program. The inclusion of international experts in this council marks a significant departure from past practices, which solely relied on local experts for program selection. This change reflects the evolving landscape and past shortcomings of the Czech dance scene, stirring its sometimes stagnant waters. I firmly believe that these shifts are aimed at a fresh start and tapping into the undeniable potential that artists in the Czech Republic possess.
More changes are underway; after all, change presents opportunities. This also entails urging some artists to forsake the "competitive" aspect and forgo awards altogether. In doing so, we symbolically return to the platform's origins. Consequently, this year, we will conclude it in a slightly different manner. Together, we will celebrate the beauty and artistry of Czech creators, while also reflecting on history and recalling the interesting, defining moments of the Czech Dance Platform.
As I did not participate in the creation of the program this year, please allow me to quote Martin Macháček summarizing how the international Dramaturgical Council was selected:
"The lively exchange of ideas fostered a program that captures the delicate nuances amidst the contrasting elements of the Czech dance scene. Monumental intersects with subtle, eccentricity intertwines with intimacy, and the established converges with the new. This year's Czech Dance Platform promises a dynamic encounter between the titans of domestic dance and the burgeoning creativity of young choreographers, showcasing powerful solos and opulent rituals.

Když v něco věříte, můžete „hory posouvat“… v to jsem věřila celá léta a díky skvělému týmu věřím stále. Velmi si vážím všech, kteří nenechali myšlenku a poslání platformy padnout. VELKÝ DÍK.
Yvona Kreuzmannová, zakladatelka a ředitelka Tance Praha

The Czech Dance Platform has never aimed to monopolize the evolution of Czech dance; rather, it aspires to be an organic part of it. It doesn't seek superiority but rather partnership. The organizers are acutely aware that the program only captures a moderated slice of a diverse array and a much broader volume of work than the eight productions represent."
Thank you to both him and all members of the Dramaturgical Council. Equally, I am thankful to the Tanec Praha team, without whom the 30th edition of the platform would not have been possible under such challenging circumstances.
When you believe in something, you can move mountains... I have believed in it for years, and thanks to an exceptional team, I still believe. I extend my deepest appreciation to everyone who has upheld the idea and mission of the platform. BIG THANKS.

WHY THINGS GO WRONG
7.4. NE/SUN 14:00 & 16:30
Studio Maiselovka
CZ
Představení Why Things Go Wrong souboru 420PEOPLE v choreografii Sylvy Šafkové v podání dvojice tanečníků Michala Heribana a Viktora Konvalinky přináší prostřednictvím současného tance téma eticky problematického charakteru.
Absolvovala několik stáží v Izraeli – Vertigo Dance Company a Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company. V současné době úzce spolupracuje se souborem současného tance 420PEOPLE, kde připravila choreografie InspiraCe, Why Things Go Wrong a HeArt of Noise.
Nyní spolupracuje například s BURKI&COM, Národními divadly v Praze a v Brně, Losers Cirque Company nebo se 420PEOPLE v show Why Things Go Wrong.
Nyní spolupracuje s českými tanečními soubory (420PEOPLE, DEKKADANCERS, Národními divadly v Praze a v Brně a dalšími).
The performance of Why Things Go Wrong, choreographed by Sylva Šafková and performed by the duo of dancers Michal Heriban and Viktor Konvalinka, was created exclusively for Studio Maiselovka. Through contemporary dance, it explores the theme of the (im)moral, ethically challenging nature of human behaviour.
Sylva Šafková is a choreographer. She began her dance studies in 1994 at the Conservatory in Brno and later transferred to the Prague Dance Conservatory. From 2000 to 2002, she continued her studies at the École-atelier Rudra Béjart in Lausanne. In 2002-2003 she danced with the Compagnie M - Maurice Béjart. She was a soloist with the Prague Chamber Ballet of the Prague Chamber Ballet of the Prague State Opera in 2004-2005 and later a demi-soloist with the National Theatre Ballet in Prague until 2013. In 2009, she graduated from the Prague Academy of Performing Arts with a degree in choreography. She participated in several internships in Israel, including - Vertigo Dance Company and Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company. Since 2015, she has been working with the Dance Company Nanine Linning / Theatre Heidelberg, where she held the position of rehearsal director and assistant choreographer in 2016-2017. Currently, she closely collaborates with the contemporary dance company 420PEOPLE, where she has choreographed InspiraCe, Why Things Go Wrong and HeArt of Noise. Michal Heriban is not only a dancer but also a versatile artist and choreographer focused on contemporary dance and physical theatre. He created the costumes and scenography for Amazonky and Krajinou slz by Lenka Vagnerová & Companyof which he was formerly a member. His paintings have been displayed at Bratislava Castle. Michal works with, among others, BURKI&COM, National Theatres in Prague and Brno, Losers Cirque Company and with 420PEOPLE in Why Things Go Wrong. He is also co-founder of the Jedným dychom theatre.
Viktor Konvalinka is among the most significant figures of Czech ballet and contemporary dance. He has had countless roles in the National Theatre in Prague as well as many other world stages, especially in Sweden. He won the main prize in the ballet category at Grand Prix Brno in 2003 and the Czech Thalia award for "best male dancer" in 2015 for his improvised solo in Ohan Naharin’s Decadance, a piece to which he to this day refers as one of the most powerful dance experiences he has ever had. Viktor is the co-founder of DEKKADANCERS and works with 420PEOPLE, the National Theatres in Prague and Brno, and others.

TREMULA
7.4. NE/SUN 18:30
Alfred ve dvoře Alfred in the Courtyard
CZ V představení Tremula se poprvé na jevišti potkávají artistka Eliška Brtnická a tanečnice Martina Hajdyla. Společně s režisérkou Janou
Stárkovou hledají průniky svých uměleckých přístupů v čisté fyzikalitě, kterou dále rozvíjejí ve spolupráci s hudebním skladatelem Ianem Mikyskou a vizuálním umělcem Pavlem Havrdou.

EN
Tremula is the first encounter on the stage between acrobat Eliška Brtnická and dancer Martina Hajdyla. Along with director Jana Stárková, they search for intersections in their artistic approaches within pure physicality, developing them further in collaboration with composer Ian Mikyska and visual artist Pavel Havrda.
Are we at the beginning or at the end? The final tremors, a fire dying out… a calamity of the elements or an ecstatic state? A state of absolute happiness or immeasurable suffering? Or simply daily exhaustion brought about by the mundanity of the everyday? We must rest. Stay put for a while. Where only moments ago a fire raged, it is now quiet. Bodies are exhausted, time has slowed down. Finally rest. But how long can one endure it?
Perception of time changes in living organisms. Our aim is to be as fast and productive as possible, yet we see value in permanence and durability. The root system we grow out of forms the foundation of our existence. We support each other and create a society. The malleable bodies that acquire strength over the course of the journey become stable supporting pillars.
Martina Hajdyla is a Slovak dancer, choreographer and teacher based in Prague. She graduated from the Conservatory of J. L. Bella in Banská Bystrica and completed a master’s degree in dance pedagogy at the Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where she is currently studying for a PhD. She is a founding member and artistic director of the ME-SA independent dance platform. In 2015, she received the Dancer of the Year award for her performance in SuperNaturals, and in 2023 the Czech Centres Award for SOFT SPOT. She was nominated for a Thalia Award in 2016 for her performance in L / One of the Seven . Martina explores dance as a concept, as a component of communication and interaction; as the natural movement of the human body.
Eliška Brtnická is an acrobat, performer and director. She studied Nonverbal Theatre at HAMU in Prague, where she also completed her PhD. In 2017, she participated in a year-long course of circus dramaturgy. In recent years, she has placed a greater focus on the visual aspect of her productions (including collaborations with the Benedikt Rejt Gallery in Louny and the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art in Prague), site-specific works and
20
documentary approaches. She was honoured with a Thalia nomination in 2022 for her performance in Hang Out . In 2023, she received the main award at the Czech Dance Platform for her performance Thin Skin . Jana Stárková is a director, dramaturge and teacher; founder and artistic director of the Špatné divadlo (Bad Theatre) platform. She is involved in Unlock the City! a European project aimed at exploring the dramaturgy of public spaces. She has also collaborated on projects such as Kulturunezastavis and Televize Naživo and productions including Lavabo, Ó, Effugio, Euchrid and others. She worked as a dramaturge with Cirk La Putyka. Her work generally concerns movement- and dance-based circus. Jana is a proud member of the Veselé chvíle choir.

Co o nás vypovídá a jakou má hodnotu?
Tereza Lenerová vystudovala The Theaterschool v Amsterdamu.
Hluboký zájem o barokní estetiku ji přivedl k režisérské a choreografické spolupráci s Collegiem 1704, Musicou Florea, Collegiem Marianum a Aalto Theater v Essenu.
V rámci studia se zúčastnila taneční stáže v New York City (Professional Certificate Studies Program José Limón Dance Foundation), několika výzkumných studijních programů současného tance (v Belgii a Holandsku) a výzkumného pobytu v Číně (CEEC Summer Dance Camp 2017). V roce 2022 absolvovala
23
The skin is the embodiment of a thin line that separates the inner from the outer world. A sensory organ with which we perceive the surrounding world, a rare material. The surface of the body can also reflect what's inside. Our skin is hypersensitive, as is society as a whole – exposed and scared. What does it say about us and what is its value? It can no longer protect us in the world we have created, so we prefer to go through it "with gloves on".

Hledáme hrdinu do příběhu.

"Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear."
Mark Twain
Did you know that deep in the magical woods lives a spectre that lures passersby, enchants them, and then takes control of their bodies? A tale told without a single word; all is told through movement. The story of an individual who embarks on a journey of adventure, a journey full of creatures hiding in the shadows. Where danger lurks around every corner and where you never know who you can trust. Can our hero survive this battle with the supernatural world? Not alone. He'll need your help! And that's why we're looking for brave men who will stand up to fear and evil. Fearless individuals who win against themselves and turn bad ends into happy ones.
We're looking for a hero for the story.
Maybe that's you, but let's ask first: Are you afraid of the dark?
Andrej Lyga completed his master's studies in Nonverbal Theatre at HAMU in the class of Radim Vizváry. He works with companies like Tantehorse, Studio Damúza and many others.... During his studies, he created with Šimon Pliska, Lukas Blaha and Václav Wortner the now well-known improvisation company We boys who walk together. The company specializes in improvised "freeform", among others, for children's audiences. He has also been a member of the Losers Cirque Company since 2022. For his first solo project, A Fairytale for the brave, Andrej Lyga was nominated for the Thalia Awards 2023 in the Alternative Theatre category for Outstanding Performance, and also in the Talent of the Year category of the Theatre Critics Awards 2023.

PAWEŁ SAKOWICZ
FATAMORGANA
8.4. PO/MON 18:00
Studio Hrdinů
CZ Taneční představení Fatamorgana choreografa Pawła Sakowicze překrývá a odkrývá (romantickou) krajinu.
Agnė je uměleckou ředitelkou hudebního festivalu Music in Space a organizátorkou klubového programu mezinárodního divadelního festivalu Sirenos.

Fatamorgana , choreographed by Paweł Sakowicz, is a dance piece focusing on covering and uncovering the (romantic) landscape. The intricate light, space and sound design explore the concept of night as a mystery that makes ordinary things, sounds and bodies seem different and eerie. The group of wanderers move cautiously: sometimes in extreme slow motion, at other times trembling with the excitement of the unknown.
It all starts when a group of six people meet in an undefined space and simultaneously utter the same phrase: "Luckily, we're going the same way." From that moment on, they start walking towards the back, gazing at the ever-changing landscape, like a multiplied figure from a romantic painting. Over countless nights and days, they merge with the space and themselves become the landscape.
Paweł Sakowicz is a choreographer and dancer. Paweł creates his own choreographic performances, but often also collaborates with theatre and film directors. His main artistic interests are the history of dance and issues of cultural appropriation in choreography. His works include many projects, that have been presented in three editions of the Polish Dance Platform, at La Biennale de danse du Val-de-Marne, Tramway Glasgow, Norma Festival, Divine Comedy Festival, NYU Skirball in New York and CAC New Orleans, among others.
Agnė Matulevičiūtė is a sound artist and composer, with a particular focus on music for theatre and film. She has composed music for more than 20 productions in the biggest Lithuanian theatres. She is the artistic director of the Music in Space festival and the organiser of the international theatre festival Sirenos club program. In her compositions she often uses the sounds of modular and analogue synthesizers from her 1980s collection.
Valentýna Janů graduated from Prague’s FAMU in photography and later studied at the Intermedia studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Her suggestive installations often combine spectacular videos and video essays in environments completed by fabrics and other materials and objects. They playfully address big life questions determined by the world of technology, the patriarchal system and climate change. In 2021, she became the laureate of the Jindřich Chalupecký Award.

Prostřednictvím tohoto tance a s pomocí geofonu nás země pod námi a tělo nad ní provedou krajinou, kterou všichni obýváme.
EN
Body, building, land. All with a history. All with their own rhythm. All with their own effect on each other. PONEC is a theatre in Prague standing on bedrock shaped by the Vltava River 20 000 years ago. A river that is now 1 kilometre away. Tereza has been dancing on that bedrock in PONEC for 25 years. The first solo she danced there was to a symphonic poem of the Vltava River. The choreography currently being researched for GEO is a topography of all of these players and layers. Through this dance and with the help of a geophone, the ground below and the body above will guide us into awareness of the landscape we all inhabit.
Temporary Collective the original work of the dancer Tereza Ondrová, director Petra Tejnorová and their friends. It is a variable and vibrant creative platform – the practice and creative process are focused on dialogue and poetic encounters with other people, artists, dance groups, communities and other forms.

CZ Together Alone – triptych (uvádíme část III a část II)
Otisky prstů, změť nenápadných linií, skrývající v sobě naši jedinečnost i genetické dědictví. Neviditelné stopy, nevědomky zanechané v našem okolí, na věcech i lidech. I my jsme jimi pokrytí.
Pořádala festival Taneční platforma Most (5 let) a hodně pracovala s dětmi (projekt Creative Kids) a svými studenty. Poté odstartovala festival Speaking with the Body, který se uskutečnil pouze jednou. V březnu 2022 vzala dceru a několik studentek a utekla před válkou do Prahy, kde nyní pracuje.

Together Alone – triptych (part III and part II)
How to cope with the burden of loneliness? How to explain it? And why is it sometimes strongest when we are surrounded by people? Even when we are together, in the end we are each on our own in life. What will unexpected meetings and crossing fates bring? The triptych reflects of the author's chance encounters with various artists during two years in Prague, where she fled before the war.
Part III. - Paradoxical Bodies
In the realm of the human body's intricate essence, adrenaline and endorphins take centre stage, harmonizing to define our physiological and emotional crescendos. They are the protagonists of an ongoing drama within us, where the balance and interplay between these two hormones are essential.
Part II. - Invisible Traces
Fingerprints, a tangle of inconspicuous lines, hiding our uniqueness and genetic heritage. Invisible traces, unconsciously left in our surroundings, on things and people. We are covered by them too. Others have left them on us, on the surface, but also inside, fleeting evidence of an experienced closeness. We create these invisible connections every day; we are the bearers of them, either unwittingly or by our own will.
Yana Reutova worked as a dancer, choreographer and teacher in the Odessa region. In 2014 she founded Dance Theatre Plastilin and created several acclaimed performances. She organized the Dance Platform Most festival (five years) and worked a lot with children (Creative Kids project) and her students. After that she started the Speaking with the Body festival, which took place only once. In March 2022, she took her daughter and several students and fled from the war to Prague, where she now works. She is involved in projects by other choreographers and herself leads workshops for children. She also develops her own work with various artists.

9.4. ÚT/TUE 15:30
PONEC - divadlo pro tanec dance venue
CZ Inspirováno nekonečným posloucháním oratoria El Niňo amerického skladatele Johna Adamse, rapových veršů Kae Tempest a hudebního rituálu skupiny Shortparis z petrohradského undergroundu.
A ponor do hlubin vlastní samoty. Kruh hloubky. Výdech. Dívka se vrací do obýváku. Kruh roztočeného pokoje. Výdech. A šepot na zemi: o šelestění, o heboučkých věcech, o křeči a stažení. Kruh běhu. Od sebe sama nikam. Kruh přátelství. Sestup do očistce metra. Kruh jara.
The Fringe First Award, Aerowaves Priority Companies 2014, Ceny Divadelních novin apod. V současné chvíli je i ředitelem Paláce Akropolis.

Inspired by endless listening to the oratorio El Niño by American composer John Adams, the rap verses of Kae Tempest and the musical ritual of the Shortparis group from the Saint Petersburg underground.
The story actually happened and has survived among people through storytelling. It is a story about birth, a body within a body, a screaming whisper, and sounds shaping space. This story was born while listening to music about a young Mary and her child. It is a story about the circles that must be crossed to rediscover oneself.
A sixteen-year-old girl opens the bathroom. She opens a box containing a pregnancy test. Inhale. And a descent into the depths of her own loneliness. The circle of depth. Exhale. The girl returns to the living room. The circle of a spinning room. Exhale. Whispers on the ground: of rustling, of soft things, of spasms and contractions. The circle of running. From herself to nowhere. The circle of friendship. Descent into the purgatory of the subway. Staying in a circle with an undefeatable beast. Escalators. The sun has finally touched the girl's hair. The circle of spring. Ritual. The circle of consecration.
The performance features a binaural effect, which throws the viewer into the centre of the spatial perception of sound and music, with the help of two moving Robe Esprite lights that “dance” together with Markéta Jandová.
Markéta Jandová is a Czech dancer and performer. Her inclination as a creator is to connect artistic genres, especially performance art and film. She enjoys alternating between different realms, thus appearing as a dancer in opera, drama or film.
Petr Boháč is a director and expert in Czech literature. Works he has directed have appeared in more than 20 countries. Several of his productions have received awards, such as The Fringe First Award, Aerowaves Priority Companies 2014, and the Czech Theatre Critics Awards, among others. Currently, he is also the director of the Palác Akropolis.

V roce 2020 absolvovala Codarts - University of Arts v Nizozemsku, obor vertikální lanom a o tři roky později program International Circus Center for Artistic Research ve Španělsku.
47
Kid od Francesca Sgró, Li(n)es od Daniela Gulka, Kniha džunglí od Štěpána Pechara a Matěje Formana, Krajina Těla od Radima Vizváryho a dalších. Je spoluzakladatelkou skupiny Feel the Universe Circus.
Filip Zahradnický je performer a žonglér. Vystudoval The Academy of Modern Circus v Kodani. EN
The world as a graphic model, a landscape of lines. Metal rods intertwine in space with the bodies of the performers, who sensitively receive the physical responses of the material – their partner. Moving sculptures appear and disappear. Their archetypal skeletons can be wrapped in meanings or just be left to flow. The body imprints itself in the material, the image in the mind, time bends. This "intuitive physics" demonstrates the most basic principles of being in the earth's gravitational field.
In Thin Skin , the creators focused on the trapeze as a kinetic and action sculpture. The trapeze was deconstructed, its parameters radically changed, and the protagonist became a long thin iron rod.
"We are fascinated by the behaviour of the material, the movement of the suspended rod almost hypnotizes us. Certain movements can irreversibly affect the shape of the trapeze bar and create new conditions of non-stability to which we must adapt. We come to terms with a fragility and vulnerability that can only be felt through thin skin."
Eliška Brtnická is a performer, choreographer, dramaturge and director. She graduated in non-verbal theatre at the Academy of Performing Arts (HAMU) in Prague, where she completed her PhD in 2018, focusing on contemporary circus. In 2010 she founded the company Cirkus Mlejn, where she creates her projects. In 2017 she completed a year-long course in circus dramaturgy at the prestigious French circus school CNAC in Châlons-en-Champagne. She has been involved in artistic research in the field of contemporary circus for many years. In Thin Skin she asks questions about what a trapeze is, what forms it can take, how it reflects on the movement of the body and what this movement conveys to the spectator. Her work is characterized by strong visual elements, which is why her new project is presented in the context of the gallery. She is also the dramaturge of the international Fun Fatale festival.
Alžběta Tichá is a performer, acrobat and author. Before discovering her passion for aerial acrobatics, she studied dance at the Duncan Centre
48
Conservatory in Prague. In 2020 she graduated from Codarts - University of Arts in the Netherlands, majoring in Vertical Rope and three years later from the International Circus Centre for Artistic Research program in Spain. As a performer, she has participated in various projects such as Hansel and Gretel by Matěj Forman, Kid by Francesco Sgró, Li(n)es by Daniel Gulk, The Jungle Book by Štěpán Pechar and Matěj Forman, Land of Body by Radim Vizváry and others. She is a co-founder of the Feel the Universe Circus Company, but she also works as an author.
Filip Zahradnický is a performer and juggler. He graduated from the Academy of Modern Circus in Copenhagen. He presented his graduation show Vermilion at the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain, where he won two awards. He is a member of Circus La Putyka, with whom he performed at the Berlin Chamäleon, has performed in several international projects and is also a solo artist.

VENUES
PONEC - dance venue
PONEC is a unique space for creativity, inspiration, encounters, dialogue and new impulses.
The PONEC Theatre is the home stage of the TANEC PRAHA Festival and the Czech Dance Platform.
We are involved in the formation and creation of new progressive dance works, especially as a co-producer. We reach children and young audiences, and we pay close attention to creating interactive activities for schools and families. We give space to Czech artists, but also extend the possibilities of international cooperation. We provide feedback to local artists. We belong to the Žižkov community and our program, accessible to all regardless of age and nationality, contributes to the revival of culture in Prague 3. Besides dance, we are open to other forms of contemporary live art.
PARTNER VENUES
Alfred in the Courtyard produced by the Motus association, is a space for live art that presents progressive artistic creations and unique original projects by Czech and international artists and performers. Theatre artists, dancers, filmmakers, musicians and visual artists all cross paths in Alfred. But the common platform is still the theatre – experimental and contemporary.

Industriální původ propůjčil La Fabrice zvláštní půvab a originalitu.
