participate in the hearing. The parties must notify the Chair at least two business days before* the meeting regarding who the attendees will be. Legal counsel shall not be permitted in a hearing for any party.

e. The individual alleging the violation will appear before the Honor Code Committee, and present verbally and in writing to the committee a description of the nature of the violation of the Honor Code. The student (s) who is alleged to have violated the Honor Code can be present at this meeting if he/she so desires. At this meeting or at a meeting held within 10 business days, the student (s) will be provided the opportunity to present their position regarding the alleged violation. *

f. No later than 10 business days following the last meeting of the committee, the Chair of the

Honor Code Committee will present in writing the recommendations of the committee to the

Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.

g. The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs will make the final decision regarding the disposition of the alleged violation and will inform the Chair, the members of the Honor Code

Committee, and the student(s) and their advisor of the decision no later than 10 business days after receiving the recommendations of the committee.* If the student has been found in violation of the Code, the Associate Dean reserves the right to dismiss the student from the

Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing (see Academic Dismissal). A copy of the decision will be placed in the student’s file.

h. The Associate Dean will notify the Dean of the decision.

i. Students who wish to appeal the decision must follow the policy in the Student Handbook.

j. All discussion regarding the alleged violation including its documentation shall remain confidential.

*Time frames stated here may be extended by the parties with notification to the Chair of AS&A or Chair of the Honor Code Committee. *
