A third man has been arrested by the Dadeville Police Department in connection with a Sept. 28 killing in Dadeville just after 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Black Tavorick Laquaz “Qua” Black, 18, of Dadeville, was arrested and charged with murder. No bond was set Wednesday evening.

The arrest of Black is the latest development in the investigation in the murder of John Farrel Adamson, 27, of Jacksons Gap in a Sept. 28 incident on Jah Street in Dadeville. In the incident, 37-year-old Gerald Haggerty was also injured by gunfire. Haggerty remains in a Columbus, Georgia hospital in stable condition, officials said.

Before Black’s arrest, Dazmon Notorious Shaw, 22 of Camp Hill turned himself in last Saturday and was charged with murder.

Bond was set at $250,000. Records show he has posted bond and has been released.

DEAR ABBY: Suggesting that an older couple (“Upset in Washington,” June 13) move to a community for people over age 55 because they’re bothered by the neighbors’ children playing outside early in the morning is just one more example of how we have ended up living in a world of intolerance and division.

I’m the mother of a lively 6-year-old boy, and I would suggest that what really needs to happen is a kind and thoughtful discussion about how the kids can be taught to respect their neighbors and play more quietly in the mornings. There’s no reason why a compromise can’t be reached.

Communities for older adults are, in my opinion, beneficial when they provide long-term care and are integrated into the larger community and society. Places that amount to self-contained towns populated only by people over 55 are the product of a society unwilling to be compassionate about different needs and priorities, and unaware of the benefits of shared intergenerational wisdom and enthusiasms. -MASSACHUSETTS MOMMY DEAR MOMMY: Like you,

They offered suggestions for coping, as well as opinions about the parenting of the neighbor children. Read on: DEAR ABBY: When people move into a neighborhood, they need to try to fit in rather than demand the neighbors accommodate them. That young mom and her kids are the newbies.

The older couple has lived there a long, long time.

I say yes to getting soundproof windows. And perhaps “Upset’s” husband should have a talk with his doctor about his health-related sleep problems.

However, ultimately, the parents must take responsibility for their young kids instead of shoving them outside for the neighbors and unlucky drivers to deal with. Let the kids play inside at 8 a.m.

members and a number of special guests filled the room to honor a woman who was instrumental in the club and growing the number of Key Club members at Dadeville High School.

A special birthday poster hung on the wall where visitors could leave birthday well wishes to Hayes, and a small feast was laid out in the church kitchen.

After the meeting officially opened, current Kiwanis Club President Chris Kizziah made a few remarks about the special nature of Thursday’s meeting before helping to bring Hayes’ birthday cake into the fellowship hall. Kizziah also presented Hayes with a special plaque,

officially recognizing and honoring her for her 27 years of dedicated service to the club as secretary and her work with the Dadeville High School Key Club chapter.

There was also a time during the celebration when club members and guests could share what Hayes meant to them.

“Over the years, we’ve had some good secretaries, but we’ve only had one great one,” Kiwanian Tony Johnson said.

“When I was in the Key Club in the 1960s, we had 10-15 members, and now we have how many this year?”

“Over 100,” Key Club President Cimone Presley

replied.

“Over 100 today. We owe that growth to her,” Johnson said.

“When I first got here, I was told Mrs. Betty was the meanest lady in Dadeville,” Peggy Bullard said. “Since I first met her, we’ve become the best of friends. There’s nobody in the world like her.”

“I’ve not known you but for a few years, but you’ve been a blessing. You made my year as Kiwanis Club president a breeze,” former club president Brenda Floyd said, adding that Hayes would often have the latest meeting’s minutes typed up and sent to her within a couple

of hours after it had concluded.

From going to high school and college with Burt Reynolds, to typing up transcripts of astronaut conversations during the Apollo moon missions, to serving as the Dadeville Kiwanis Club secretary for over a quarter-century, Betty Hayes means a great deal to a lot of people. If the comments from Hayes and her daughter Lisa Peters are any indication, she thinks very highly of those around her as well.

“Our family has grown every year, and I’m proud to see that,” Hayes said.

“This is her world away from home. I just want to thank all of you,” Peters said.

“It’s here, it’s set up and I couldn’t be more excited,” Bre Smith of Main Street Alexander City said. “It took us four and a half hours to get it set up.

Everything looks great. It’s an honor for us to have it here.”

Thursday was a rather slow day for the exhibit, as a couple employees at city hall said Thursday afternoon only a couple of people had gone through

up to that point.

“I’m expecting a lot of students to come out and enjoy it after they get back from fall break,” Smith said.

To further include students in the exhibit, the artwork made by students at Stephens Elementary School for the “Renew Our Rivers” volunteer clean-up effort were on display, including the winning submission from Ava Barrett.

“We really wanted to include the kids in this,” Smith said.

Arguably among the most powerful aspect of the displays included the sections on how people rely on water during

their everyday lives and how much water it takes to make commonly used items.

Hanging near a photograph of a waterfront community in southern California was an image of anti-fracking protests and one of people distributing water to the residents of Flint, Michigan in the aftermath of their water supply being contaminated with lead from the city’s pipe system.

In a different section of the exhibit, images of everyday items like chocolate, leather and chicken were printed on small doors. Opening the door informs guests how many gal-

lons of water it takes to produce each of these items, ranging from 18 gallons to grow one apple up to 39,090 gallons to manufacture a car and its four tires.

Smith said the exhibit is free to visit and is a self-guided tour.

The exhibit is open during the same hours as city hall, and will be open until Nov. 7.

“All of the information here comes straight from the Smithsonian,” Smith said. “I want to thank the Alabama Humanities Foundation and the Smithsonian Institute for bringing Museum on Main Street here.”

on a path to the northwest, towards the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico before crossing the Gulf of Mexico and impacting the southern coast of the United States.

The latest projections from the National Weather Service Thursday afternoon show Nate will most likely make landfall between New Orleans and Mobile Sunday morning as it begins turning on a more northeasterly course, with the main body of the storm coming directly through Tallapoosa County Sunday evening into Monday morning.

By the time the storm makes landfall in the United States, these projections show Nate could have gained enough strength to be upgraded from a tropical storm to a hurricane as it impacts the Gulf Coast over the weekend.

In preparation for whatever the storm may bring to Alabama over the weekend, Gov. Kay Ivey declared early Thursday evening that the state would be placed in a state of emergency beginning at 7 a.m. today.

The National Weather Service currently has the storm projected to move through Alabama throughout Sunday and early Monday before continuing northeast into Tennessee and the northern areas of the Atlantic seaboard by Tuesday.

However, the agency states Nate’s exact track will become clearer as it moves closer to the United States Thursday night and early Friday morning.

Arrest

Daquon Denzell Sheeley, 21, of Jacksons Gap was charged with murder Wednesday morning. Sheeley was already in custody after being arrested Monday on a probation violation and failure to appear warrants. Bond was not set for Sheeley as of Wednesday afternoon.

Dadeville Police Chief David Barbour said 911 dispatch received several calls of shots fired in that area at 12:47 a.m. last Thursday.

Officers arrived shortly thereafter finding the two lying in Jah Street with gunshot wounds.

They were transported to Lake Martin Community Hospital where Adamson passed away. Haggerty was treated there and

then flown to Columbus, Georgia for continued treatment.

While Barbour has not released any further details of the incident, residents on Jah Street recalled the shots from Thursday morning. Residents said they heard about six shots over a 10-second time frame. One resident said one of the victims could be seen running from the shooter almost “running out of his clothes” while seeking cover at a nearby home.

Barbour would not comment specifically on if the incident was drug related, but said investigators are looking at all possibilities.

A search of court records shows very little activity in Black’s history.

There is nothing more than traffic tickets shown in his adult court records.

Shaw and Sheeley on the other hand have extensive criminal records.

Sheeley made headlines in 2016 when he was found to have a loaded gun in his possession while an inmate at the Tallapoosa County Jail.

Sheeley was arrested and had charges of firstdegree promoting prison contraband added when he was found to be in possession of a gun on March 23, 2016.

In that incident, Sheeley and two other individuals were arrested on unrelated charges by the Jacksons Gap Police Department and all were transported to the Tallapoosa County

Jail by the Jacksons Gap Police Department and the Dadeville Police Department.

A detailed search at the Tallapoosa County Jail found a Taurus PT 609 9 mm handgun, loaded with five live rounds, according to court records.

The gun was recovered and secured, and no one was injured in the process.

Court records show Shaw has been charged with 11 drug related offenses since 2013, has one bond revocation in his record and was charged with illegally possessing a firearm in January. Shaw is currently on bond on the weapons charge, which has been bound over to the grand jury.

Martin said that the investigation remains active and thanked the agencies who have played a role in the probe.

“We are still currently investigating other leads and will continue to follow those leads until all people responsible for the death of Mr. Adamson and the attempted murder of Mr. Haggerty are brought to justice,” Martin said.

“We will continue to offer support to the remaining victim and his family, as well as the family of John Adamson.

“We will continue to work diligently on this case and will not rest until all are brought to justice and the families can start to have some peace of mind in this horrific situ-

ation.”

Martin and Barbour said the investigation has been aided by officers from the Tallapoosa County Narcotics Task Force, Alexander City Housing Authority, Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Department, Alexander City Police Department, U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Fugitive Task Force and the District Attorney’s Office of the 5th Judicial Circuit.

“We are looking at it from a water quality standpoint. We are wanting to educate everyone to not flush their medications, that was the recommended and preferred method years ago.”

True worship is heart praise to God

Water/Ways exhibit I is must-see for area

T

he Smithsonian Institute traveling exhibit “Water/Ways” was on full display Thursday and residents milled about the lobby of City Hall in Alexander City taking in the hundreds of images and information on display.

While there were several visitors to the exhibit Thursday, we hope that as many local folks as possible will take in the display before it leaves the city on Nov. 7.

The exhibit, which is made possible through a partnership between the Smithsonian Institute and the Alabama Humanities Foundation, gives visitors the chance to get up close and personal on how water impacts the rest of the environment, historical aspects of water subjects and the importance of not polluting waterways among other things.

Interactive aspects of the exhibit include having an iPad and a television sharing additional information with guests.

Alexander City is the third of six Alabama cities the exhibit will visit, officials said.

We are indeed lucky to have this exhibit in our area.

Since this exhibit revolves around the importance of water, planners at the Alabama Humanities Foundation wanted to be sure they chose cities with close ties to bodies of water. For Alexander City, having both the Tallapoosa River and Lake Martin nearby made bringing the exhibit to town a natural fit.

To give you an idea of what kind of exhibit “Water/Ways” is assembly of the exhibit took about four and a half hours and was ready to go when the doors opened Thursday.

While the information in the exhibit is geared more towards students at the middle school and high school levels, the images and information are just as intriguing to anyone interested in learning more about the important role water plays in the world.

We thank the Smithsonian Institute, the Alabama Humanities Foundation, MainStreet Alexander City and the city of Alexander City for bringing this wonderful exhibit to our community.

have decided that I can’t pat my head and rub my stomach at the same time. There is just no coordinated rhythm in my soul. When the music starts I really want to clap my hands and tap my toe, but I’m pitiful. A few Sundays ago the praise chorus was one of those peppy little numbers that reminds you of a jingle for Jesus.

Everyone started clapping, swaying and looking like they were having the time of their lives. Even some of the staid old Baptists in the back slipped their hands up a little, but quickly put them down as being too Pentecostal for their dignity.

As for me, I knew I should just stand on my dignity and not embarrass myself trying to keep up. Yet, the more everyone sang the happier they looked and I didn’t want to be left out. So I put down my genuine black leather, large print, pulpit edition of the King James Version Bible and decided to give it a try. It wasn’t a real good decision.

First of all my toe wanted to tap to the beat of the music, but my hands had no idea what was going on.

Remember the passage of scripture where Jesus said don’t let your right hand know what your left one is doing? Well, I fulfilled that

text with some left over. I was about two claps behind everyone from the start and never came close to catching up.

Secondly, I was trying to tap my toe and came off looking like a circus horse counting out numbers.

You’ve heard of 4/4 time in music, but have you ever seen a man doing 7/5 time, trying to clap and sing at the same time? I assure you it’s a sad sight.

Even with all this I think I would have been all right if folks hadn’t started swaying with the music. Now I was supposed to clap, tap and rap to the music while trying not to fall into someone’s lap. As my row of ecstatic warblers swayed left I swayed right and bumped heads with a deacon having an even harder time than me. I think both of us would have settled for a couple of verses of “A Mighty Fortress” about then.

Finally the chorus ended, after repeating about 50 times, and I grabbed up my Bible and tried to look

pious. Of course, it’s hard to look too pious with a knot on your head standing next to a deacon with a black eye. I was about ready for a Latin prayer book and candles by now.

Worship is our expression of love to God. Sometimes it comes in the quietness of meditative prayer and other times in the joyous shouts of “amen.” Our approach to God is very personal and we receive our fulfillment of His presence in many different ways. The main thing about worship is to not analyze it to death, but to just do it! As a pastor I’m more concerned about the blessings than I am about the order of service. When things are done decently and in order and honor God, I can accept them. I may not be able to keep up, but I can at least feel the spirit of the moment.

By the way, you know what the hardest part of the worship service is for most folks? It’s not the praise time or message; it’s the time of giving their offerings to God. There are a lot of bumped heads when this part of the service starts.

few years ago I decided to get into the best shape of my life. I was 50 years old and had spent 30 years getting heavier and less mobile. I also had this dream eating at me; I wanted to live a wonderful adventuresome life into my 80s and 90s.

But, according to my lifestyle, I was not going to be fit for most adventures by the time I reached my 60s. Something had to change – and gratefully it did. I want to write about the importance of movement and strength training in holding off old age and maintaining good health.

Becoming stronger and more flexible through exercise is the very best wellness investment that you can make. Sadly, we are a sit on our rear end kind of society. We are not moving as much as we used to. A hundred years ago we would not even be talking about exercise because our entire day was exercise.

The problem with this lack of movement is having an impact on us physically, emotionally and relationally.

• Don’t eat late.

• Unwind with some hot decaffeinated tea and a book.

• Write down plans for the next day to not obsess over them at night when you should be sleeping.

I am eating and exercising every day for one reason. I want to live the fullest life possible, and that means being physically strong and fit. I know things happen outside of our control and that is true for everyone.

But, for those things in my control, I want to live as healthy and vibrant a life as is possible.

And I want you to do it, too. We have too much life to live to miss out because we are too out of shape to survive the journey.

Hike up a mountain on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Find something to do every day that gets your blood pumping and do it.

Oktoberfest the whole family entertained.

“The activities will go from the pavilion to the Elkahatchee side of the park,” said the Parks and Rec Department’s Programs and Special Events Coordinator Kristi Hardy. “We will have transportation taking people from the parking lot next to the football field down to the pavilion area.”

Hardy said there are currently more than 100 vendors signed up to be a part of this year’s Oktoberfest, including food vendors selling everything from hot dogs and hamburgers to barbecue and kettle corn. Kona Ice and cotton candy will

“There’s going to be just about anything you could hope for,” Hardy said.

For those visiting the kids’ area, there would be a craft workshop sponsored by The Home Depot, along with the newest addition to the event: a petting zoo and pony rides from the Feathered Friends Cockatoo and Horse Sanctuary.

“We were contacted by Feathered Friends, who were interested in seeing if we wanted to have them be a part of the event,”

Hardy said. “Having one come out, it’s a lot of fun for the kids, but we’re also getting to help the organization at the same time.”

A number of musical acts are scheduled to perform in the pavilion, including the Highway 280 Bluegrass Band.

Several local organizations like the Alexander City Youth Cheerleaders are set to perform during the event, both at the pavilion and near the kids’ area, according to Hardy.

A Down and Dirty run is set to take place during the festival as well.

Hardy described the race as being a fun obstacle course run, approximately three miles long, around

There is no entry fee for the race, but donations would be accepted and all proceeds from the run would go towards the Dream Field fund.

The Alexander City Oktoberfest would not be complete, however, without the car show.

Located just past the vendor area, Hardy said there were more than 100 vintage cars that would be lined up for the public to admire, while sitting just past them will be a group of more off-road vehicles.

“Everybody seems excited about this,” Hardy said. “This seems like one of the biggest and most popular events in the area.”

TIGERS VS. TIGERS Dadeville travels to Tallassee for rivalry matchup

For the 65th time in history, Dadeville and Tallassee will meet on the football field in a clash of the rival Tigers.

Tallassee holds a pretty significant lead in the series, having beaten Dadeville 46 of the previous 64 matchups, but the last several years have been back and forth with Dadeville capturing last year’s meeting, 44-27.

But Tallassee seems to be the team to beat this time around, as it is currently ranked No. 10 in Class 4A. “Their kids play hard, and when you look at them on paper and you just watch the film, they’re not overly big,” Dadeville coach Richard White said. “But they play hard and they get after your rear end. They have skill players that can run.”

Tallassee is under the direction of senior quarterback Casey Baynes, who has developed into a strong leader and is a three-year starter. Their top running back is Eryn CochranGill, while receivers Kalevin Levett and Jacob Burton have both been through-the-air threats.

“They’re going to line up in that Notre Dame box, and they’re going to run the football dead at you,” White said. “They’ll do a lot of misdirection with that box, then they’ll spread you out with two-and-two sets and throw the ball. Then they’ll get in the I and run some power game, so you have to be prepared for three different offenses.”

Defensively, Dadeville seems to be getting better and better every week, but it’s still allowing quite a few points against. Some standouts for the Tigers last week against Valley were

Although Kadore Glenn has been extremely explosive the past couple games, Dadeville hasn’t quite settled into its offense this season.

BRHS looks to get back on the right track

Through the first four games of the season, Benjamin Russell’s football team stood undefeated. The Wildcats suffered their first loss of the year last week, but it wasn’t exactly a bad loss to take — not only was it not a region game, it was also against the now second-ranked Oxford Yellow Jackets.

It’s time to shake that off, as Benjamin Russell gets back to business tonight in Class 6A Region 3. The Wildcats (4-1, 3-0) remain tied with Wetumpka as the region leader, and are hoping to right the ship on the road against Chilton County.

Although the Tigers (1-5, 0-3) have just one win under their belt, they’re not a team Benjamin Russell can overlook. Chilton County is under the direction of Tal Morrison, who was previously the Wildcat offensive line coach, so the Tigers may have an advantage in knowing what to expect from the visiting team.

“Tal has really done a good job with them,” Benjamin Russell coach Danny Horn said. “When you’re starting out at a new school, you gotta get used to the players and they have to get used to how you’re doing things. Now, I think they’re getting used to him, and they’ve vastly improved since their first game.”

Although Chilton County may not have the best athletes in the region, Horn said the Tigers make up for what they lack athletically with what they put through in hard work and effort.

“They always play hard,” he said. “I’ve really been impressed with how hard they always play. They never quit, and it’s going to be a hard-fought game.”

The only weak point for Benjamin Russell’s defense so far this season has been its secondary, and Chilton County could look to exploit that.

Quarterback Shi Keem Laister has a good arm and likes to throw to receivers Patrick Rogers and Al Koryan Albert.

The biggest defensive

standout in Horn’s mind is linebacker Cade Williams.

But the thing the Wildcats will be looking to fix is at the line of scrimmage, which Horn said was the biggest point of contention against Oxford.

“Offensively, we’ve got to get better on the line of scrimmage,” Horn said. “We got whipped on the line of scrimmage, and I don’t know of many games people are going to win when they get whipped on the line of scrimmage like we did. We’ll keep working on it. At times, they’ve been pretty good.”

Top running back Davede Herron suffered an injury against Oxford but is hopeful of returning tonight.

Keke Harvey and A.J. Thompson could see more time at the position, though, and the Wildcats are also hoping Hezekiah Hunter will be able to move the ball a bit better this week.

Defensively, Benjamin Russell also suffered a key injury when star linebacker Ben Hendrix went down on the third play of the game. He also is hoping for a return, but sophomore linebacker Bret Pitts had a nice showing in his absence.

“Bret played well; it was probably one of his better games of the season,” Horn said.

“Defensively, we pretty well held our own.”

Defense certainly hasn’t been the issue for the Wildcats, and although they’ve proved they can score when they need to, Horn will be looking for a more sustainable offense this week against Chilton County.

“Offensively, we’ve got to be able to sustain drives,” Horn said. “We may not score every time, but we don’t need any three and outs. It changes field position when you pick up some first downs. A lot of that comes back to third down, though. We haven’t been doing very good on third-down conversions.

“Defensively, we’ve still got to play hard and prevent the big play, especially on the passing game, and we’ll be all right.”

Athletes’ good deeds are often unrecognized S

ometimes it’s possession of marijuana. Sometimes it’s assault, robbery or driving under the influence. College athletes, much like many in the pros, can’t seem to stay out of the crime reports. Recently, corruption charges swept the college basketball landscape, proving grown adults are not immune to the lure of greed and power.

What happens off of the playing fields is not newsworthy to the mass media unless either a crime is committed or a controversy is spun. Bad news sells newspapers and draws TV ratings.

Spirited controversy invites debate, hate and sucks people’s eyeballs to the internet and television talk shows.

It’s hard to blame the mass media — crime stories involving popular athletes, professional or collegiate, are intriguing to sports fans. On the flip side, reports of community service or academic excellence are less interesting.

Despite the police reports, suspensions and recent basketball scandal, great things are happening on college campuses. They simply don’t make the news.

For example: • You’ve probably never heard of Kristen Dodson.

This young lady not only plays soccer at Auburn University, but has made the Dean’s List while pursuing a degree in exercise science in hopes of one day becoming a physician’s assistant. Dodson is one of 60 athletes nationally to be selected as a finalist for the CLASS award, which exemplifies excellence in community, classroom, character and competition.

Aside from soccer and studies, Dodson volunteers at the BraveHeart Center in Auburn, where adults with disabilities are provided with health and wellness plans, is a volunteer for Habitat-for-Humanity, and is a regular at The Church of Highlands’ annual Serve Day. • Macy Reece is busy these days.

She’s a senior at Auburn, is a key member of the Tigers’ volleyball team and has already graduated with a degree in finance.

Just because she finished her undergraduate degree doesn’t mean she’s finished with education. While maintaining her volleyball schedule, Reece is a candidate for an MBA. If that’s not enough, she is recently engaged and is planning a May 2018 wedding. Masters-level education, volleyball, wedding. Good luck, Macy.

• The Harbert College of Business sponsors a career fair each semester at Auburn Arena, where recruiters from roughly 100 firms spend the day meeting with students for prospective career and internship opportunities.

Last year, I spotted a tall student decked out in a suit and tie visiting with recruiters and learning about career options for life after football. He’d already earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and was in the first year of the university’s MBA program. His name … Daniel Carlson.

This All-SEC Academic student does more than excel in the classroom and kick footballs very, very far: he was born with a servant’s heart. He’s a regular on international mission trips and was one of 22 college football players nationally to be named to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team.

College campuses are loaded with great people just like Dodson, Reece and Carlson. We might never hear about their good deeds, but we need to remember for every crime-related story or team suspension, there are studentathletes reaching out to help make this world a better place.

The Cougars have also cleaned some things up since going completely under center, which doesn’t allow for as many snapping miscues as they had early in the season.

Although Pike County is a strong region opponent, Central Coosa is hoping because the teams do such similar things, it will be a good contest.

“What we’ve seen them do on film probably won’t be what they do on us because they haven’t played a team like us as far as someone that’s just going to line up and do a lot of what Pike County does on offense.

They’re going to stack the box and put their playmakers in space to make plays, and we’re going to have to get in their way.”

The Tigers are also looking to give their quarterback more time to throw. Slade McCullers has taken over the quarterbacking duties for the last three weeks, as senior Jeff Rice has been struggling with an injury. But there’s a chance both could see some time this weekend.

“We gotta give our quarterback a little more protection when we do throw the ball,” White said, “instead of him trying to hurry everything because he’s getting heat run down his throat every time he drops back to pass.”

With four weeks left in

the regular season, Dadeville is on the outside looking in at a playoff spot in Class 4A Region 3, but the Tigers aren’t giving up hope yet.

“The way I look at the rest of the season is we have a chance in every ballgame to win, and that’s four more games,” White said. “I believe our chances are just as good

Reeltown should see the return of both Cameron Faison and Trey O’Neal, who suffered injuries during the Rebels’ game against Lanett two weeks ago. The two have practiced but have been kept out of overly physical situations, but Johnson is

expecting them both to play Friday night.

But since the loss of Keke Hughley to injury, Tre Tre Hughley has taken over much of the load at running back.

“We’re still going to do what we do and still rotate people in and out,” Johnson said. “I feell like Cam will be as close to 100 percent as he can on Friday night, but if he does have to spot play a little bit, I don’t think there’s any added pressure on Tre Tre. He started the majority of the year last year until he got injured, and he’s obviously

With five weeks left in the season, a victory over Ranburne would certainly tilt the region standings in Reeltown’s favor. But in order to secure a win, the Rebels will need to disciplined and focused.

“We cannot beat ourselves,” Johnson said.

“We gotta play smart as far as penalties, and we cannot turn the ball over. We gotta keep the chains moving, and when we have an opportunity to put points on the board, we need to score.”
