The family of a man shot to death while he was mowing his grass on a riding lawnmower has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the man accused of the crime. Court records show the estate of Elbert Clyde Wilson filed the suit April 18. Records also show Wilson’s daughter Paige Wilson is the special administrator of the estate. On the day of the shooting, Price said he had witnessed a red truck pull up in front of Wilson and fire a shot in his direction. The attorney representing an Alexander City woman accused of financial abuse of the elderly has requested a preliminary hearing in the case. Alexander City resident Natalie Dawn Wyckoff, 39, is accused of obtaining the financial information of a 62-year-old woman that she sat with and took about $6,400 from the victim’s account over a period of time. Wyckoff’s case was part of a lengthy docket of first appearances in district court before Judge Clayton Kim Taylor Tuesday.
