The Jacksons Gap Town Council selected former council member Janice Glaze to serve out the remaining term of Brady Crocker who resigned due to added work obligations. The selection took place at Tuesday’s special called meeting where the council interviewed three of the four candidates who submitted their names for consideration, considering the other through her resume which was provided to the council. Shrills of excitement as zip lines open at Wind Creek By CLIFF WILLIAMS Staff Writer

creams of excitement can now be heard from the trees at Wind Creek State Park as the Screaming Eagle Aerial Adventure Park is now open. The series of zip lines and skywalks traveling through the trees of the park is the result of a concession agreement between the Alabama State Parks System and Screaming Eagle. “We are really excited to kick this off at Wind Creek,â€? One man injured in four-vehicle accident

Park to celebrate annual anniversary event Saturday

One man was injured in a fourvehicle accident on Highway 22 West in Coosa County Wednesday afternoon. The driver of an Isuzu Rodeo was transported following the accident with unknown injures. The accident left an 18-wheeler in the ditch and blocking the roadway for a couple hours so the truck could be removed from the ditch. Also involved in the accident were a Land Rover and a Ford F-350. Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Troopers are investigating the accident. The Kellyton Volunteer Fire Department and the Coosa County Sheriff’s Department also responded.

Horseshoe Bend National Military Park has been celebrating the Battle of the Horseshoe for decades and Saturday is no different as it hosts the 204th Anniversary of the Battle of Horseshoe. The day will be filled with activities to celebrate Creek Indian heritage and give guests a peek into 1800s frontier life and military life. “Throughout the day will have cannon firing demonstrations and musket firings,â€?
