The Jacksons Gap Fire Department is stuck without its firetruck as disputes over repairs emerge. The town council learned at Tuesday’s meetings it may have to either pay for repairs for issues with the truck and some caused by freezing water while it was at the Montgomery repair facility or try to seek remedy through legal action. The truck was taken in for repair over issues with running at idle that, despite some repairs remain unfixed. “We took the firetruck down to have a problem fixed,â€? Police Chief B.C. Copper said. “We are still having problems. They left the firetruck outside and caused some problems.â€? The extra issues came from water remaining around valves in the truck during recent cold weather while the truck was at the facility. The facility says it is the town’s problem to rectify but city officials say some of the original issues required water be used to test. There is also an issue as to who can do See FIRETRUCK • Page 3
