Day after day the Tallapoosa County Narcotics Task Force works to take drugs off the streets of the community. Last year alone, the group of four full-time law enforcement officers worked over 600 cases. In the last three years they have cleared over 1,800 cases. The group’s tireless

For school administrators and teachers to be defensive when it comes to Benjamin Russell High School receiving a ‘D’ on its Alabama State Report Card is understandable. They get paid to help students achieve and perform academically and it is their job to make sure an adequate education is available. But when students who are in the classrooms and at the school every day are left scratching their heads over the news, it’s enough to make some take a second look at how the grade was reached. According to the Alabama Department of Education, the grade reflects several different factors including academic achievement, academic growth, chronic absenteeism, as well as graduation rates and college and career readiness (for high schools).
