Cliff Williams / The Outlook
Election Systems and Software’s Jamie McKinnon shows muncipal election officals how to operate the new voting machines in the basement of the Tallapoosa County Annex Wednesday before the upcoming elections Tuesday.
Voters who had hoped to have some answers to the long list of financial questions facing Alexander City’s government may actually get some information before they go to the polls on Aug. 23. City Council President Jim Spann confirmed Wednesday evening that the council will hold a special work session Monday afternoon at the upstairs courtroom at the Alexander City
Public Safety Building. An exact time has not been set, but Spann said city finances will be the main topic of discussion. “As was said at the last meeting, we have to roll our sleeves up and just get a real idea of where we are and see what can be done to speed the process along,” Spann said. “It is vitally important that we do that and there is no reason to wait. I know the people want answers, but I can assure you, that’s exactly what I want and every member of the council wants, too.” See CITY • Page 3
