This pandemic year has been a very busy year for us, says Paulo. “It accelerated a lot of IT projects in the
region and there was a lot of demand for work-fromhome solutions. So, it was quite busy, addressing all this, and we keep working
with customers on their cloud journey. If we look at the work that we’ve done with the Hyperscalersat the beginning of the year, we announced the partnership with Google to bring their Kubernetes platform on-prem. We also worked with Microsoft to do the same. Microsoft has a solution called Azure Arc for Kubernetes, we support it on the Nutanix Cloud platform as well. incredibly well. But there’s really five key areas, from my perspective, and the number one is cloud, number two is industry specific, number three is digital built- in, number
four, reduce time to value and number five, an unusual one, is our ownership structurevery, very different in the market. So, if we start with the first one-clouds, you know, here we are at GITEX and every application vendor in this building if you speak to them, they will all tell you they’re in the cloud. What are some of the trends in the video surveillance market? There are some trends that are dominating the video surveillance market such as video resolution. This has upgraded from standard resolution to
higher resolution. Such as 4mp, 5 mp etc. Also, the system itself is upgraded from Analog to IP and this change is happening here in the UAE and countries in the Middle East. The application of AI in video surveillance
is also a growing trend. Currently, most of HIKVISION’s cameras as well as recorders have smart functions and AI-embedded features. Now, CCTV is also moving away from providing just security, to be used in
platform to network and engage with our vendors, partners, and customers, to share knowledge, to collaborate and expand together. Especially after the pandemic, it is extremely encouraging to see so much enthusiasm and participation. GITEX is also a forum to showcase the new innovations and technologies that we have.
