When vacancies outweigh talent Not only is technology itself becoming more sophisticated, but businesses have quickly evolved in their digital transformation journeys over the past year – particularly when it comes to cloud. In fact, there is now an abundance of research to show that digital transformation journeys that would previously have been expected to take a number of years have been completed in a matter of months.

But many of these technologies were implemented in urgency and under pressurised conditions, when businesses had little time to think of anything other than how they’d keep the company afloat remotely.

So, as organisations’ use of these emerging technologies becomes more complex, and more specialised knowledge is required to help implement and run them, it is becoming

Therefore, in EMEA we see a huge increase in Ransomware attacks going beyond corporate IT systems and targeting the individual, often through the very SaaSbased applications rapidly deployed during the pandemic.

The message we are continually underlining to all of our customers is that any data stored on new SaaS platforms across multiple clouds needs to align with existing data backup and recovery SLAs within

the organisations that have deployed them.

With technology brands at GITEX highlighting the hybrid work revolution in their own way and how to manage this shift, Cisco has launched its first Hybrid Work Index (HWI) – delivering unique insights into the impact of this change. The study collects responses from millions of aggregated and anonymous customer datapoints made up of users and leaders to deliver crucial findings that can help to inform employers and employees to make better decisions.

The Index, which will be updated quarterly, examines how people’s habits and technology interactions have permanently reshaped work a year and a half into the COVID-19 pandemic.

Findings show hybrid workers expect greater flexibility, accessibility and security, while businesses grapple with meeting these increased technology demands.

“We’re truly at a unique time, with the ability to redefine work”, said Reem Asaad, vice president, Cisco Middle East and Africa.

“All employees around the world want a workplace that enables them to do

Several key themes have emerged from the HWI that can help business leaders understand the approach they need to take to make hybrid work a long-term success: Key findings for HR and People Leaders • People want choice and the hybrid workplace increases employee loyalty: 64% agree that the ability to work remotely instead of coming into an office directly affects whether they stay or leave a job. However, there is also uncertainty whether employers will realise the potential of hybrid work:

Flexibility and Wellness are key drivers for hybrid work: An overwhelming majority of respondents agree that personal health and wellness, along with flexible work arrangements, are non-negotiables as we move into the future of hybrid work.

Hybrid work drives a surge in on-the-go meetings: Pre-pandemic, people used mobile devices 9% of the time to connect to their meetings. In a hybrid work world, this number tripled and is now at 27%.

So the first thing we have done, which we haven’t done ever before, is to venture into mobile Wi-Fi. We believe that 5G is a real revolution which is going to change the dynamics of everything in the world-not just technology, but everything that we do today. That’s why we’re foraying into the

onto this portfolio. We have added an outdoor access point, we have added an indoor access point which will be used in large villas, hospitality and education sectors. So we have a complete portfolio of products which start with indoor access points, to indoor access points.

From the technology perspective, we have Wi-Fi 5 today and we are launching Wi-Fi 6 access points for businesses in December.

We have something else that’s unique: The software that guarantees the best experience. What we have is Linksys Smart Wi-fi and each of our mesh solution comes with Linksys Smart Wi-fi. With this product, we give you, the consumer, the control of our network where you’re able to view the number of devices connected on your network, you’re able to limit the kind of usage, the kind of bandwidth and prioritise bandwidth on applications.
