Emily V Jones

About the Artist

Emily V Jones’s vivid artworks explore geometry and colour, manipulating the viewers interpretation of shape with her unique folding technique, deployed across a range of mediums to create one off, 3D contemporary.

Jones demonstrated her creative flair from an early age - initially studying art and photography at school where she found herself continually drawn to paper as a medium, captivated by the versatility it offered to sculptural structures. After completing a Foundation Course at Central Saint Martins, Jones transferred to a Graphic Design degree course at the University of the West of England, where she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a full time artist upon graduating. A chance encounter with a work by Francisca Prieto inspired Jones to reconnect with her early love of paper and whilst reflecting on childhood memories of a fortune teller, she continued to experiment with a variety of forms which resulted in her first work.
