A STEP-BY-STEP PATHWAY THIS IS AN ACCELERATED PATHWAY FOR THOSE STUDENTS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCE OR KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY. • • • •

You MUST demonstrate an awareness of WHS especially in setting up, using and maintaining industrial machines. Demonstrate the ability to produce fashion illustrations including working features. Apply knowledge of sustainability practices and the ability to identify and handle the application of fabrics and textiles. Be able to identify quality assurance of final outcomes.

Continue to develop your practical skills at this stage. Learn to develop basic patterns, construct garments and use digital design tools to create trade illustrations and communicate concepts. Activate your career in the fashion industry with this diplomalevel qualification from TAFE Queensland. This course will give you the specialised skills and knowledge to flourish within the design, manufacturing, wholesale or retail areas of the fashion industry. In this 12 months it will give you the advanced skills to work independently or collaboratively with in a constantly evolving sector. JOB OUTCOMES: Fashion Designer, Textile Print Designer, Illustrator, Computer Aided Designer (Pattern, grade, marker), Pattern Maker, Accessory Designer, Buyer, Agent – Fashion/ Marketing, Sample Machinist, Quality Control, High end alterations (formal wear).
