Any resident of the TADL service area is entitled to a free library card. Register in person at any of our 6 locations or online at www.tadl.org/register. Make sure to bring your photo ID with name, birth date, and current address. A library card is issued on the spot and can be used and enjoyed right away! Patrons under the age of 18 must obtain a parent’s or legal guardian’s consent.

You are responsible for all materials checked out on your library card. All library materials borrowed are FREE, however late fees are imposed if items are not returned or renewed on time. RENEW + AVOID THE LATE FEES Most items (other than “Hots”) can be renewed up to 6 times if no one else has placed a hold on that item. Renew via your online account, in person, or by calling your library. CREATE AN ONLINE ACCOUNT Obtain your username and password from any service desk at any of our 6 locations. Use your account to access online resources, search our collection, place item holds, renew items, view checked out items, due dates and pay fines.

The Traverse Area District Library (TADL), a network of community libraries, is a district library system comprised of six public library facilities funded by a dedicated countywide millage. TADL operates under a Board-approved $4.7 million budget providing support for public library services online and in six facilities in addition to operations from the TADL Talking Book Library.
