If you want that future to be peaceful, and you want to avoid drama, it would behoove you to dress more modestly around the children, because their mother asked you to. If she decides that she dislikes you, she can make life hard for your boyfriend.
She can drag him into court repeatedly, make visitation a nightmare, become demanding and nosy about money, suck up time he could spend with you making him do frivolous things for the kids that she could do herself, speak poorly about you or him to the children, etc… If your pride is wounded, or you feel that your manner of dress is none of her business, you can tell her to piss off, that’s your right, but I personally think it’s unwise.
