700 km drive into the heart of the country.

Dear friends, At the end of February and beginning of March we were in Ethiopia for two evangelistic campaigns. We were in Konta Koysha, in a place that no one has heard of. We drove 700 km (400 miles), partly on very bad roads, and it took us two days to get there. Our bus would not have managed it, so we had to rent a Land Cruiser. It was necessary to take diesel with us as there was no fuel station there. Our accommodation was very simple, without electricity, running water or a toilet, and it was very, very hot. I was told I was the first white person who had gone there to preach. The people were delighted that we had come and we saw great openness for the word of God and the working of the Holy Spirit. Many gave their lives to Jesus, we saw a great number of healings and many were set free from evil spirits. There are thousands of such places in Ethiopia. Because of the poor road conditions we had not previously been to such remote places. However, we do want to go there and therefore we need a new truck. We bought our 7.5 tonne IVECO postal vehicle seven years ago, after the German postal service withdrew it from service, and have been using it ever since, but it has now had its day. It was not built for African roads. It repeatedly needs repairs and I have to bring the spare parts with me from Germany and pay full duty on them.

Our 7,5 tonne IVECO postal vehicle, which we got from the German Postal Service. We need a somewhat larger and more powerful vehicle and want to buy an 11-tonne ISUZU truck in Dubai. This truck is built for Africa and spare parts are available all over the country. The same truck costs €67,000 in Europe and €40,000 in Dubai. In addition, you have to pay €15,000 in duty when it is imported into Ethiopia. Perhaps someone feels moved to buy us this truck. When Jesus needed a boat, Peter was willing to give his boat; when Jesus needed a donkey, someone was there to give their donkey. When the disciples untied the donkey and were asked why they were doing it, they answered: The Lord needs it! It is the same with the truck: The Lord needs it!

We are transporting Jesus, just like the donkey transported Jesus. We are carrying the gospel to the remotest corners of Ethiopia. We need this truck and Jesus needs it.

We’d like to buy an 11 tonne ISUZU truck in Dubai. We are living in uncertain times. It is possible that we will wake up one day and our money will no longer be worth anything. Why not invest in heavenly values? We are currently seeing everything being shaken up, as the Bible says in Hebrews 12:26. The false gods are falling: the economy is being shaken, soccer has been cancelled, politicians are at a loss for what to do, stock markets are plummeting. It is time for people to remember what truly counts. God loves people and he wants everyone to be saved. Now is the time for the last harvest before Jesus returns. Jesus said we should work as long as we have the opportunity. We want to do that and so we want to evangelize even more. The harvest is huge and millions of people have no idea how late it is. We are running the last lap, Reinhard Bonnke said last year in Hamburg. Jesus is coming soon! Take time for God! Invest in your spiritual life! Develop your prayer life! Encourage your fellow human beings who are living in fear. Let your light shine. This world needs you; it needs your testimony! We are living in the best and the worst of times, depending which side you are standing on. In Goshen, where God’s people lived, there were no plagues. The plagues affected the Egyptians and their gods – an image of the world. Our life is hidden with Christ in God. Jesus Christ is our ark! On 20 April we intend to set off again, first to Nigeria and then to Ethiopia. I thank you for every prayer and all your support. The Lord of the harvest will reward you for it. Warmest regards,

Ekkehard Hornburg

HEALING TESTIMONIES KONTA KOYSHA, ETHIOPIA

„Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering … and by his wounds we are healed.“ Isaiah 53, 4-5

Since childhood evil spirits have afflicted him. Jesus set him free.

For 25 years she had been unable to move her left leg – now she can walk. It was as if his eyes were veiled. He said the veil had gone and he could see clearly again.

She had a tumour on her breast and had an appointment for an operation. She had been suffering from severe pain for 3 years. The tumour has now disappeared along with all the pain. For 3 months she had been hearing voices trying to persuade her to commit suicide. She was set free from an evil spirit.

For 25 years his legs had been painful and itching. He could hardly walk. All the symptoms have gone. His right ear had been deaf for a year. Now he can hear again.

Both eyes were short-sighted and one was almost blind. He can see again.

PSALM 91 Almost 100 years ago, during World War I, the 91st Infantry Brigade of the U. S. Expeditionary Army was preparing to enter combat in Europe. Because their commander was a devout Christian, he assembled his men and gave each of them a little card on which was printed the 91st Psalm, the same number Psalm as their brigade. They agreed to recite that Psalm daily. After they had begun praying the Psalm, the 91st Brigade was engaged in three of the bloodiest battles of World War I - Chateau Thierry, Belle Wood and the Argonne. Other American units that fought in the same battles had up to 90 percent casualties, but the 91st Brigade did not suffer a single combat-related casualty. We live in uncertain times, but God promised that He will be our refuge, our shelter from the storm. The devil can’t find us in God‘s hiding place. When God’s judgment hit the earth and it was destroyed by a flood God hid Noah and his family away in an ark. God also has prepared a hiding place for us and this place is called “In Christ”. In Him we are safe and the enemy can’t get at us. The bible says that our life is hidden with Christ in God, Col, 3:3. The safest place to be is in the will of God. God makes 7 promises for those who love him and have made him their place of refuge: Psalm 91: 14-16 1. I will deliver you! Call upon me in the day of trouble and I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me, Psalm 50:15. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles, Psalm 34:6. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all, Psalm 34:19. The name of Jesus means Savior and whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Jesus came to seek and to save those who are lost. Jesus is your Savior. He hears the faintest whisper and comes to your rescue. He sends his angels to deliver you. Peter was delivered by an angel from prison and his life was spared. An angel protected Daniel from the lions. Angels are ministering spirits to deliver those who are heirs of salvation, Hebr. 1:14. 2. I will protect you because you know my name! The Name of Jesus is our protection. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you, Verse 7. I will say to the Lord: My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Jesus becomes to you whatever you call him.

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous runs into it and is safe”, Prov. 18:10. I am in Jesus, and Jesus is in God. This is a safe place. 3. I will answer you! Call upon me and I will answer you and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known, Jer. 33:3. The Lord is near to all, who call on him…he also hears their cry and saves them, Psalm 145:18-20. God hears and answers prayer. Ask boldly and expect to receive! 4. I will be with you in trouble! “For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, saying, Fear not, Paul” Acts 27:23. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble, Psalm 46:1. Not only do Gods angels help us, but God also gave us the Holy Spirit to be our Helper, our Standby. The Holy Spirit will help us and show us a way of escape if we ask him and listen to him. 5. I will honor you! Jesus said: If any man serves me, him will my Father honor, John 12:26. We honor God if we listen and obey his word. We honor the Holy Spirit if we give him the right of way and don’t resist him. If we are ashamed of the word of God and of the Holy Spirit Jesus will deny us before the father and the angels in heaven. 6. I will satisfy you with long life! The first commandment with promise is: Honor your father and mother that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth, Eph. 6:2-3. God’s will is that we live a long, good life until we are satisfied. Someone said: I did not honor father and mother and they are already dead. Do I have to die early? No because God is a forgiving God, if we ask for it. 7. I will show you my salvation! Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God, Matt. 5:8. Jesus said to her: Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God, John 11:40. God wants to show us his glory and He wants to give this world a demonstration of his power and his glory. God promised Moses that he will show him his glory because Moses found favor with God and God knew him by name, Exodus 33:17. We also have obtained favor with God through faith in Jesus and He knows us by name and will show us his glory. We are living in the last days and the knowledge of the glory of the Lord shall fill the earth as the waters cover the sea, Hab. 2:14.
