RED MOON ANGUS

Red Angus Yearlings

Welcome to the 8th Northern Alliance Bull Sale. The Northern Alliance sale group is again presenting a group of bulls hard to beat anywhere in the country. We continue to receive good feedback from buyers since inception of the sale. With the number of bulls in the sale and different sire groups represented we are confident you will find a breeding bull to meet your needs. Join us on sale day at the new facility in Ft. Fraser BC, Belsham Farm. Twenty minutes up the road from BCLC facility in Vanderhoof.

Our Black Simmental bulls are available by private treaty off the Farm. Red Moon continues to stay with the fundamentals –calving ease, structure, maternal traits, moderate frame with muscle and performance. We are offering a good selection of Red Angus bulls for use on heifers and some power bulls for your mature females. The bulls in our pen will be 16 to 17 months old when most of you turn out. We have recorded the actual weaning weights off the cow taken mid-September of 2017 along with the bulls’ actual weight Feb 4th 2018. The dam’s side of things plays a very important role in the production coming from her offspring. Hence, we give you as much information of the Dam side of things as we can fit into the short write-ups. More info is available if you wish to contact us. We also are careful to record where our bulls find new homes. We can easily tell you what breeding lines your past purchases came from. We continue to use breed leading AI Sires and good walking bulls. To keep our gene pool open we are changing the sires every two years. Fresh genetics for our customers is a priority. The Red Wilbar Over The Top 825Z has increased the muscle definition in our bulls and we are confident in his progeny’s ability to do that for your herd. 825Z brings good length, excellent confirmation and solid feet to the table. He is also a very easy keeping bull. Combining him with the maternal traits we have in our cow herd, makes a pretty solid match. We purchased him as a mature bull from Wilbar Cattle Co, Saskatchewan. He comes with a proven record and Wilbar has good producing females in their herd from him, along with top bulls in their bull sale. We used Red Nine Mile Cogan on our heifers. The goal was to get a little more performance from the heifers without giving us any calving problems; by all accounts he has done that. His calves came easily and we kept over only the bull calves that we though would make great heifer bulls. They should perform well giving a little more performance to you for weaning. All of the bulls are fed at home, we feed a balanced ration and locally grown dry mixed forage. Bulls are fed to promote healthy growth and development. The pen is on a complete vaccination program; including express 5 and protection for foot-rot, by sale day all will have had their booster shots and ivermectin. We weigh the bulls every 28 days, weather permitting, weights may be viewed on our web site www.redmoonangus.com. The pen is fed by hand and is familiar with people walking amongst them. To all that have supported our program over the years, thank you! We wish you all easy calving and profitable calf sales!
