INSURANCE
Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser at the time of the sale. Animals remaining at the sale facility or the sellers farm must be insured.
US EXCHANGE
The USD will be accepted at the rate of exchange on sale day which will be announced prior to the sale.
EXPORT INFORMATION
Testing requirements for export to US will be handled by the respective consignor. All costs associated with exporting will be that of the buyer.
DELIVERY
Bulls are welcome and encouraged to stay at DanG Charolais FREE OF CHARGE until the long weekend in May. Buyer is responsible for insurance if this option is chosen. Consignors will assist with arranging delivery as quickly as possible after the sale or as arranged with Derek to keep in the bull yard. Knill Transport will be available as needed for any long distance trucking needs.

WELCOME DanG Charolais On behalf of my family and the sale group, I would like to welcome everyone to the 2nd Annual DanG & Friends Bull Sale. As many of you know, the sale events spring and fall at our farm mean a lot to me and have been a long time coming. For many years, we have been selecting cattle that we feel comfortable in producing high quality herdsires to the purebred and commercial cattlemen. Over the past year, we have seen a very profitable time in the beef cattle industry! Replacement feeder cattle selling for record prices, cull cows and replacement breeding stock also very high. Cull bull prices have been exceptionally high, this allowing for the average commercial breeder to replace their bull and upgrade to something higher quality for very little difference. I would like to welcome back some of the most respected breeders in the area as consignors for our sale: Partridge Hollow Charolais (Barry Baldwin & Family), Bogart Cattle Company (Eric Doran & Family) and Terry Creek Charolais (Todd Aird & Family). About one year ago, we experienced a tragic loss to our bull sale group. Ivan Hutchinson was a key part of our Charolais family and we miss him everyday. Each time we ‘celebrate Charolais’ we know that Ivan will be looking down at us fondly. His memory will be forever in our hearts. Each one of these breeders has a bit of a different genetic twist to their program; Todd focuses on EPD excellence, Eric enjoys competing for banners on a local and national level in the show ring, Barry and I have built a significant group of animals from ET. This group of breeders is ultimately a great fit to offer bulls that will work for each and every buyers preference. Cow families are a big deal around here, the bulls in this sale are backed by some of the breeds best and most prolific cow families. Some of these cow families are Miss Prairie Cove 314A, Miss Prairie Cove 630D, Miss Prairie Cove 504C, Miss Prairie Cove 309A, M&M Ms Stealth and Medonte Starstruck 17Y. This is just the tip of the iceberg, take a look through the genetic excellence of this group of bulls, you will be impressed. All of these bull have been raised since the fall of 2023 at DanG Charolais. They have been grown on a high forage, high fibre ShurGain pellet to ensure lean growth. Rest assured that these bulls have not been overfed and will go ahead to work effectively for their new owners. If for some reason a bull purchased out of this sale does not go on to be a successful breeder, please reach out to the seller of the bull, any of us will do our very best to make sure your cows get bred and you remain a satisfied customer. The fall and early winter of 2023 have been challenging in regards to the weather. Due to extensive rainfall, warmer than seasonal temperatures and constant thaws the bulls ended up a bit dirtier on picture day than we had hoped for. This does not take away from the quality of bulls we have on offer, they are a fantastic set of individuals with a lot of genetic potential. We think a lot of these bulls, they are the fruit of our breeding for many years, we want to see these bulls be successful for their new owners. Some of the ways to ensure your bull is a long-lasting investment is to make sure that he is not over worked in his first year breeding and he has the opportunity for rest and body condition regeneration following a busy breeding season. Remember, after a bull reaches 12 months of age until 24 months of age, he should not be breeding any more cows than the number of months he is old. Therefore, a 16 month old bull should not breed more than 16 cows. Don’t be afraid to invest in some grain to make sure your bull is ready for his second breeding season! Realizing that most of our buyers do not require a bull until late spring/early summer, we have decided to offer to keep any bull purchased through the sale until the May long weekend at DanG Charolais. This will be offered FREE OF CHARGE! We value the convenience of our customers and hope this option is helpful to our buyers. If a bull is to remain at DanG Charolais for any length of time, the bull must be insured. On or before May long weekend, any of the consignors will be happy to assist as best we can in delivering your new bull. Please note that boarding charges will begin to be applied to bulls left at DanG past May 24, 2024. Rollo is a real suck and has turned out to make some very good calves. Rollo has a birth weight of 107 lbs. but, he is from a cow that is over 1800lbs that we purchased from Chester Tupling and Gord Thomilson. As I write this, we have 5 calves from Rollo on the ground here at DanG. They are attractive and have an average birthweight of 90.4 lbs. All the calves have been unassisted! Bid with confidence!

On the sires side, a bull that we purchased a semen package on from Circle Cee Charolais. One of the first Authority sons that was on the market at the time, coupled with the Ester donor that has become a cornerstone to the Circle Cee program. Case in point Lauchlan’s half sister was the high selling bred heifer (TCC 153K) at the 2023 Platinum Picks female sale going to Havan Hill Charolais. As for Lauchlan, he is long in design, athletic and I believe he would work well for either a purebred herd or the commercial cow/calf enthusiast who is looking for calving ease with added performance. CONSIGNED BY DANG CHAROLAIS & TERRY CREEK CHAROLAIS On offer will be a wide selection of quality Charolais influenced females from the top end of the DanG and Terry Creek herds. Some are going to be bred along for spirng time, some will be springing at sale time, some will have calves at side. These cattle are not registered and will be selling will be selling as commercial breeding females. They are all bred to high quality Charolais bulls or have calves at side sired by high quality Charolais bulls. There will be 20-25 females on offer between the two consignors.
TERMS& Conditions
TERMS: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds. CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION: Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Charolais Association unless otherwise stated. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made. PEDIGREE ESTIMATES Pedigree Estimates (PE) are created on the projected mating of the animal’s sire and dam based on averages of the two, creating estimated values that do not hold the same accuracy of actual EPDs issued from the association and should be used as such. HEALTH: All animals in the sale have met all necessary health requirements. GUARANTEE: Each animal becomes the purchaser’s risk immediately after the animal is sold. All animals in this sale will be sold under the terms and guarantees set forth by the Canadian Charolais Association with regard to health, freedom from defects and from both reproductive and specific genetic unsoundness.
PREGNANCY INFORMATION: All serviceable age females have been pregnancy examined by an accredited veterinarian, giving an estimated length of gestation. This estimated gestation period shall be used only as a guideline to calving and is not a guarantee of actual service. LIABILITIES: All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller, facility owner and sale manager assume no liability legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur. It is understood that T Bar C Cattle Co. (2013) Ltd. is acting only as a medium between buyer and seller and is not responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations. Neither does T Bar C Cattle Co.
