Heifers are due to calve May 1, 2017. Heifers exposed to Red and Black Angus bulls for 45 days. Warman Veterinary Services has been the primary herd health veterinary practice for the Lazy T Ranch cow herd since 2011. During this time I can confirm that the herd has maintained an up-to-date vaccination protocol and there has been a continued focus on culling for performance. With respect to the vaccination protocol, the cow herd has been re-vaccinated annually with Bovishield Gold FP5 (IBR/PI3/BVD I and II/BRSV) as well as with an Ultrachoice 8 vaccine (clostridial bacteria). Heifers have had the adequate two-administration regime prior to receiving the annual booster vaccination. With respect to the pregnancy diagnosis and culling, all pregnancy diagnosis is performed by rectal ultrasonography. During this process, cattle are assessed based on body condition, physical soundness (feet and leg quality) and udder quality and culled accordingly. Regards, Curtis Read, D.V.M.
