Cattle Nutrition: At Richmond Ranch our goal is to develop the cattle for longevity and succeSS in any program. The bulls are fed a growing ration of corn and barley silage, chopped hay/straw, and a Bullseye supplement at 0.75%. This system allows us to grow the bulls to seek the performance while maintaining their natural muscle shape. Our goal is to not only have bulls looking good for sale day, but most importantly, looking great while working in your pasture during breeding.
This year we have continued to feed corn silage. We reduced our pelleted bull ration by 25% simply because of the nutritional value that the corn has added to the silage. The bulls have maintained growth and performance equal to other years. We expect that the longevity of these bulls should be exceptional with this natural and mild energy source.
