WELCOME from Crossroad Farms We warmly extend an invitation for you to attend our 15th annual bull & female sale. Our deepest gratitude to all our bidders, buyers and repeat customers from our past sales for your continued support. Our customers are #1 and we truly appreciate your interest in our program and look forward to assisting you with your future bull needs. As breeders our work starts many years before your bull is born, layering genetics to make strong females that will produce bulls that will make a difference in our customer’s paycheck. Whether you are looking for Reds, Blacks or Fullbloods, our sale offering is strong with a good selection from calving ease to performance. Several transplant sons from extremely strong cow families will be featured. Sons from trusted sires that were so popular at last year’s sale are back and sons from several new walking herdsires will also make their debut. Several AI sires were also utilized so that we can offer you as many options as possible to move your programs forward. Choosing a herd bull is one of the most important choices a cattleman has to make. A good bull will pay for himself when you sell his first set of calves. A poor bull will cost you for years, especially if you keep your replacements. It really pays to buy the best genetics you can. Competent help is the key to a well-run operation and we would like to say a sincere Thank you to our employees, they are all very special and have worked side by side with us until the job is done. Also our family, friends and neighbors, all good people we can count on, your efforts are truly appreciated. If there is a bull you are interested in but are unable to attend, call Gerald or Jody as you have in the past and we can assist you in bidding OR contact anyone of the capable sales staff to bid on your behalf. Online bidding will be available through www.dvauction.com OR www.dlms.ca Videos will be posted on crossroadfarms.ca, dvauction, Bohrson and First Class websites in early February. Give us a call any time prior to sale day and feel free to stop by the farm to view the bulls, we are always available.

CROSSROAD ACTION 133H

PRS1316303 | CRF 133H | JAN 17 2020 | POLLED 7/8 We purchased American Red from LCDR Simmentals in North Dakota. He has an excellent structure with such a great foot and moves so effortlessly. He continues to impress us with his stunning profile, his breeding ability and the consistent progeny that he sires. His first calf crop yielded nine sons that were mostly out of heifers. They all made the bull sale averaging $9,722. His daughters are equally impressive and we are eagerly anticipating their first set of calves. American Red offers calving ease, excellent growth with above average EPD’s. He has a solid genetic base to leave a lasting impression on any herd and we are pleased to offer you twelve sons and four heifer calves at this year’s sale.

This combination of genetics sure worked well. Here is a super deep, super hairy and super quiet American Red son that will be a true stand out on sale day. This early maturing heavy-weight stepped on the scale in early Sept.at 955 pounds and hasn’t quit growing since. His young Revelstock dam belongs to an excellent cow family and we expect she will produce many great ones in her lifetime. She raised an excellent daughter on her first try and like her mother she will be one of the first to calve this year. There is no doubt that this bull will sire you a strong set of calves, maybe your best EVER!

Pictured on November 24th just over ten months of age, here is a tremendous power bull with mega hair that is dark red to the hoof. We collected semen for in herd use on his sire, Crossroad Red Stone before he was sold in our 2018 bull sale to Meadow Acres for $26,000. Red Stone is another transplant son out of the Stepping Stone x IPU Code Red genetics who are both known for producing females with excellent udders. The dam of Red Rio raised a full brother that sold to Windmill Stockfarm at last year’s sale and another son was purchased by 7 Pillars Ranch. Red Rio has good performance and thickness throughout. If you want to produce early maturing, heavy weight, top dollar calves, here is a bull you can count on to get the job done.

Another real complete Red Stone son here, solid dark red, moderate framed with thickness from front to back and big testicles. He has an appealing small head, moderate birth weight, good performance and comes from our wicked good Woodstock cow family that always brings home the best. His dam has raised bulls for Lee Ranch Co. in Montana and another went to Hard Luck Farms at Young, Sk. She is due with her 6th January calf and we sure hope it is a heifer. Good cows raise good bulls and growing this cow family insures that we can continue raising the best for our customers. If you are herd building you will definitely want to retain his daughters. Generations of proven producers in this bloodline guarantee high returns on your investment in a very short time.

Red Replica was born an embryo twin and there is a pretty wide gap from birth at 74 pounds and the weight he is now. His commercial recipient mother kept the other twin and this little dude was actually raised by his full sister who had lost her calf. The proof is in the milk, look which twin made it into the sale catalogue, and it also says a lot about these genetics. A must see, how much better will he be by sale day, you be the judge.

Twin to lot 28 and transplant brother to lot 27. Their sire Westcott is widely used with over 800 sired progeny registered and that number continues to grow today. Red Deuce was born at only 74 lbs and it depends what kind of a mother is available to try to shuffle a twin off to that determines their growth. In this case the genetics are built in and there is very little difference between these twins. His dam’s name is Diva, she comes from a long line of tremendously uddered females and she is Olivia’s first purebred cow. She is one of the few that have ever won the distinction of Grand Champion Female three years in a row, as a bred heifer, a two year old cow calf, and a three year old cow calf pair at the P.A. Regional 4-H show. She also won the 2017 Tiger Lily Classic at the P.A Ex. Her first bull calf sold at our 2019 sale to Rust Mountain View Ranch from North Dakota for $14,000 and her second calf was a heifer that is due to calve in early January. Olivia invested some of her savings into another bred female this past fall and is slowly growing her purebred herd. Super thick hair coat and great colour on this moderate birth weight polled Philosophy son. We are quite impressed with the growth and consistency of all our Philosophy calves. Platinum has a super quiet disposition and excellent testicle development. His dam raised a super stylish bull for Stan Skavlebo at last year’s sale. She is bred back for an early Black Gold Radio Active calf, which is a new bull we purchased last spring and we are sure looking forward to seeing those calves. Lots of eye appeal and a great polled genetic package, he will sire some good ones.

Our grandson named this bull, he lives, eats and breathes the Blue Jays, and at age eleven he is a pretty good cattle guy too. He must have known this bull would be special. And he is. Not only does he ring the bell in the style department, but all the boxes are checked off on birth weight, performance, structure, testicle size and disposition too. He was born to a Spartacus heifer whose maternal traits are hard to fault and she is bred back the same way for early January. His Grandam is one of our best full fleck cows, and will be entering our donor program this spring, she is due with her tenth calf again in January. She raised Sangria, who was a high seller last year going to Cattle Creek Crossing. Here is Pillar, polled full fleck with above average EPD’s( even better than the Blue Jays, Sorry Cooper) He will sire tremendous calves with replacements that are highly maternal, proven genetics here that equal pure profit. ~ Diluter free ~ Page

We have three All Aboard daughters born this year and are pleased to bring you this one. Her dam has given us nine January born calves, one daughter is retained in the herd and all the rest have been sold thru our bull sale, her high fertility has certainly earned her keep. Hollyhock has some southern genetics and a ton of consistent maternal traits which are just some of the qualities that should be considered come sale day.

We sure like these Rattler progeny, sons and daughters are thick, deep bodied, stylish and have good dispositions too. Here is a moderate framed pretty gal with a ton of hair mothered by a transplant Reckless/106R daughter, so good consistencies and maternal strengths in this bloodline. Honeysuckle will certainly make a good addition to any herd.

Here is an eye appealing polled Outlook daughter with good hair and a great shape, we think she has mama cow written all over her. She was born to a heifer that has almost the same colour pattern as her daughter. Her grandam is super stylish too with two daughters working in the herd and a son and daughter both sold through the bull sale. Her daughter sells this year as lot 90. This heifer has a stacked pedigree with high maternal values, there is no doubt she will be a good producer.
